In one 66 episode, Liberace took the villain spotlight as pianist Chandell and criminal twin brother, Harry. Harry forced Chandell into a life of crime due to blackmail, and Chandell did whatever he could to get out of his brother's power... Including an attempted killing of Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, in order to come into their wealth via marrying Aunt Harriet.

A childhood friend of the Penguin, Lola Lasagne (née Lola Schultz) would team up with him in her criminal capers after her divorce left her flat broke. Together, she and the Penguin attempted to pull off a horse racing scam, rigging the competition by switching out the racehorses so that only they would know which one was the real one. Though she was meant to have an appearance in the comic spinoff, it was cancelled before her storyline could come to fruition. From what I could find, Lola would have been shown to have become a member of the League of Shadows.

Portrayed by none other than Liberace, Chandell was a pianist who was blackmailed by his twin to cover the fact that he’d had said twin cover for him during a performance in which his hands were injured. He planned to kill Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson in order to marry Aunt Harriet, intending to use the money to pay off his brother. But because Chandell planned to leave the criminal life after paying him off, his twin, Harry, betrayed him and stuck him in a death trap, from which he was rescued by Robin. In the comic spinoff, Chandell is shown to have reformed, doing charity concerts and even teaming up with Batman to stop the Siren when her schemes threaten his reform.

Today marks 39 years so nice the passing of piano maestro Liberace who played the twin villains Chandell and brother Harry.

The two episodes Liberace appeared on would become the highest rated episodes of the entire series.

Llegamos al episodio que muchos consideran el mejor de la serie. Francamente, no le daría yo tan alto honor, pero sí que lo colocaría en lo alto de la tablar. Supongo que el secreto de su éxito es lo esperado: que es divertidísimo. No solo se tira a la piscina y manda a Bruce y a Dick de vacaciones durante gran parte del primer episodio y le da multitud de escenas y trama a la Tía Harriet, incluso hasta un intento de romance... la gracia está en un villano no solo basado en sino interpretado por Liberace. Y por partida doble además: Chandell, sofisticado pianista, y Henry, rudo gangster; ambos gemelos.

La cosa es que no es nada descabellado. Habida cuenta del espíritu de la serie, si hay una celebridad que pegaba bastante es el mismo Liberace, y aquí se le ve en su salsa. O quizá también se trate del episodio haciendo también lo propio para acercarse al universo de Liberace, con todo lo hortera y extravagante de sus shows de Las Vegas. No siempre podemos ver a no una sino tres féminas secuaces, a la sazón sensuales bailarinas y hasta a Dick pelando la pava. Y por supuesto, pianos y más pianos. That's entertainment!
