Joker headcanons + infodump ( probably mostly infodump).

It’s been like a year since I’ve done this and I wanna talk about Bailey and his story again. I have no clue if this counts as headcanons or infodumping but either way it’s about Joker so—

His full name is Lucas Bailey. Although he only goes by Bailey, and refuses to be called Lucas by anyone ever. No one knows why, he’s cagey about it every time he’s asked.

He was born with a condition called anisocoria. This condition is completely harmless due to him being born with it. His father had the same condition.

Outside of work, his fashion is rather genderfluid. Pants, skirts, heels and flats. If it’s purple and comfortable he can be seen in it.

Shockingly a stickler for lab rules. Gloves, closed toed shoes, all the lab safety.

If he catches you breaking those rules? Getting kicked out immediately. He will lock the door.

He has a job! A legitimate job! He’s a chemist for Wayne Tech!

Currently he works on whatever pharmaceutical needs to be tested or researched, but his own personal side project is called Joy-cure.

He’s been working on Joy-cure since his days at ACE chemicals.

His time at ACE ended when he was almost murdered there, undiluted joy-cure poured over his face by two hit men.

Joy-cure when undiluted is extremely corrosive and addictive. Diluted it is safe, as long as you don’t try to overdose.

Bailey spent several weeks in the hospital after his attempted murder, his bills paid by a huge settlement from Daggett Industries.

Roland Daggett is the single man Bailey loathes with every fiber of his being. It’d be near comical if it wasn’t for the escalating danger of Joker’s schemes. Which result in multiple attempts on Mr. Daggett’s life.

Batman currently has no clue why Joker has targeted Daggett so specifically. But Roland Daggett has many, many enemies.

He’s rather social with other rogues! He’s open to discussing territories, helping schemes, etc etc. the only caveat is Batman won’t be dying. Try and kill him? Joker won’t let you. No no, now it’s two against one.

This makes him unpopular with the rogues for scheming.

He’s still friends with Jervis.

They used to be coworkers!

Jervis went crazy first. Also got caught first.

Joker remains uncaught for at least eight years. Always one step ahead of Batman.

Luckily those schemes weren’t deadly and more so just— lots of property damage if anything.

When Daggett releases new products, Joker gets more dangerous. People get hospitalized.

Because of the scarring inside his mouth, Bailey can’t actually taste that well. He can taste intense flavors, mostly sour, super super sweet, or insanely savory. But a lot of food is bland for him.

As Bailey he also has a lisp! This is due to the fact he can’t really feel a good portion of his face. As Joker he forces himself to enunciate better, a stronger, slower cadence than how he talks as Lucas Bailey.

Is this how it works irl? No. But this is fiction, suspend your disbelief. Like Superman and Clark Kent.

He also has a lack of sensation in his hands. Specifically his fingers and palms. He can feel the backs of his hands however and can still feel pressure on his hands.

This means to actually feel textures he’ll use the back of his hands. Which you can see when he feels something fluffy and wants to keep petting it.

He can and will make animal sounds at animals. Cats? He meows at them. Birds? Caw caw bitch. He somehow lost a fight to a pigeon once.

Insanely jealous of Catwoman and her relationship with Batman. Even if he doesn’t really understand what they got.

He occasionally does drag shows at the iceberg lounge. Goes by the name Miss Muse.

Actually managed to convince Oswald to have weekly drag shows because business booms with it. Plus more people perusing creative fashion!

So. Many. Petnames. That’s how y’know joker likes you, nicknames and pet-names.

He’s one of the newer rogues. Others have been doing villain work for far longer than Joker who is about eight years old. Batman is about 15 years old. Though Joker is credited with being Batman’s most infamous foe.

Headcanon Scarecrow has taken so much fear toxin and seen so much horrors because of it that she’s unintentionally like built up an immunity to seeing eldtrich horrors. She could see Cthulhu and be fine. Or as fine as she usually it at least.
