I’ve been seeing a lot of Pokémon-hybrid posts in the submas tags and I decided I wanna join the fun !!!! So Chandelure Ingo !!!! I’m in love with him.
I've been thinking about paper lantern au a bit for reasons, so i realized I never drew what Ingo looks like when he gets home!
Poor guy has to do his PT before he can get back on the trains... But hey, he gets a neat custom chandelure-themed staff to hang his lantern up on.
I also have extra spooky mode, for when the unruly passengers be acting up.
He can have some ghostliness as a treat. He keeps the fire, teleporting, and being able to understand and sound like a pokemon. Anything other than that and he has to leave his body again.
In addition to making sure his body recovers from his coma, Ingo also has to make sure his soul recovers from being decoupled for so long. For a little over the first month back, Ingo suffers from what looks like narcolepsy to anyone else, but for him it's like ha accidentally slipped out of his own body. The lantern comes in handy for when it takes a minute for him to reconnect.
The first time it happens, Emmet nearly has a heart attack because he thinks Ingo relapsed... Until Nobori awakens and Emmet remembers that his brother is still there, and then Emmet worries that Ingo is stuck.

Okay, having Volcarona Emmet to Ingo's Frosmoth is good shit, but here's a thought that I've had hoarding brain cells for actual weeks: Chandelure Ingo (and/or Emmet) with a Volcarona S/O who thinks he's the hottest man on Earth and is so happy to be his lovebug?
I will be looking at that lamp man disrepectfully.
Not really a sketch request unless you want to draw a blank, vaguely Volcarona resembling figure. But I did need to share the idea and I saw an opportunity.
Okay but like hear me out, the moth to the flame energy this set up has is [chefs kiss]
My brain for some reason makes me want some kind of gothic romance idea with this. Chandelure Ingo just gives me gothic romance energy idk idk

This design is super cool! Not sure how useful the staff as-is would be as a mobility aid, but I’m not familiar with what’s best for that. Maybe a secondary side-grip handle about halfway up so it can be used more like a cane?
I don’t know, but I really like this whole concept! Good to have the lantern on-hand, for sure!

Good point! I wasnt really thinking of the mobility aid first. I thought of Ingo keeping the lantern with him before i realized the consequences of the coma...
The handle is a great idea! Hopefully Ingo recovers enough to not need it so much soon, but in the meantime it will be comfy. Also, interesting shapes like that are fun to hold, mobility issues or not.
I drew it real quick, and i added a bit of a curve to the staff. More flowy shapes, yay!
