Base camp of #YHAI #Chandrakhani Pass trek at Seobagh, Kullu, HP, India
Written by trekker of #CP17 batch:
Situated on the banks of River Beas, this campsite was most luxurious compared to the upper campsites. It had closed toilet facilities, with the tap never running dry!
Not that anyone dares to have a bath with the chilling waters of Beas. A flat patch of dry land accommodating at least 30 tents, each will house at least 12 persons.
The field director (FD) communicated with all the trekkers through mike & loudspeaker system, each time heralding the scheduled activity. There used to be flurry of the limbs then, either lazily or energetically, flapping the tent doors, tying shoe laces and coming out.

There were 3 types of movements seen at the base camp (from tents):
1) Moving towards or from the dining area that was housed under a huge canopy, providing shelter from rain & sun while having meals.
2) Moving towards or from the charging points. This one place was for gadget talks and how frustratingly the batteries were being drained. All the different types of cameras and mobiles were here on display, getting charged under the hawk eyes of their respective owners.
3) Moving towards or from the toilet. Running towards it and coming out relaxed, care free.
Those who are wondering about connectivity & electricity along the way, there is no electricity at upper camps, but a strong signal of Airtel & Reliance with internet! Vodafone doesn't cover this part much. Carry your power banks & solar chargers only. Leave any charging devices in the locker at base camp. They will only add weight in addition to depriving your energy. Charge as much as you want, but only at the base camp.
Day 1: is reporting day and is a rest day. Trekkers are free to roam outside the camp site, visit Kullu / Naggar / Manali for sightseeing or shopping.
Day 2: is acclimatization day, where trekkers are taken up a steep gradient through the mountains with rucksacks brimming to the full. This is to get accustomed to carrying weight and trekking in higher altitude where the sparse oxygen levels multiplies the weight of the baggage! In the afternoon, rappelling and rock climbing activities are carried out under the watchful guidance of the experts.

Day 3: is flag off from the base camp for higher camps.
