The transfer window closes on 23rd January, but hopefully whoever is signed for Arsenal will be announced/with the team before that!

been thinking a lot about the “yousef stopped practising Islam because of even, what a good friend”-posts that has gone around since yesterday and i just want to point out that i do not believe that yousef, in fact, stop practice Islam to support his friend, especially since they're not actually friends anymore. what i see hhappened with even and yousef was that yousef saw his friend trying to find something in the religion yousef was practising and that he couldn’t find the answers in it. yousef, in turn, started questioning, evaluating what he thought religion was and especially, what it was to him and found that he thought there were good things, like he told sana, but he also found that he felt better taking distance from it and separating himself from Allah. he didn’t do it for even, even only made him reevaluate, and yousef chose to step away for himself.

I find it interesting how Odin was chosen instead of Zeus as one of the three primary gods of the Samurai Jack universe. I mean, Norse mythology has become a lot more popular than it once was in modern and now post-modern society, but Greek mythology has endured millennia. Not that I have anything against Odin as a choice.

However, now that I think about it, the three main gods chosen were all not Japanese; Odin (Scandinavia), Ra (Egypt), and Vishnu (India). I’m kind of perplexed by this. By all means, sure, they can be included, but I wonder why a Japanese deity (Kami? someone help me out) wasn’t the leader. I mean, just from a quick wikipedia search, it looks like Amaterasu, major Kami and goddess of the sun and universe, would have been a great fit. She’s even considered to be the direct ancestor of Japan’s emperors! Who is Jack the son of? “The Emperor”.

Oh, well. Maybe Genndy’s saving that card for later. We’ll see. I’ll just end by saying that he did a rather nice twist with Gungnir by making it into a trident. That’s an interesting interpretation to be sure.
