HOW TO CHANGE YOUR NETBOOK SCREEN RESOLUTION
HIGHER THAN 1024x600 PIXELS
Note: Windows 7 User
Device: ASUS Eee PC 1005HA
Disclaimer: Tutorial is not totally mine, please see sources at the bottom. :)
Hi netbook friends! It's really hard using netbooks considering it's small screen right? And sometimes we deal with applications that require high screen resolutions like for installation processes. (If anyone reading this has installed AutoCad in ther netbooks, you may have encountered my problem) Given that our netbooks have the default 1024x600 pixels screen resolution, it's one big problem. So, today I am going to share the solution (which I got from Google) for having or changing the resolution higher than the default.
Tutorial is not mine as I just tweaked them and add step by step pictures, please see sources below. :)
1. Click
and type regedit in the search box.
Then click enter.
2. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SYSTEM / Current Control Set / Control / Class / {4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} / 0000
3. Click on Folder 0000 and on the right pane navigate to Display1_DownScalingSupported
Double click Display1_DownScalingSupported and change the Value data from "0" to "1".
Then click "OK".
4. Do the same as step 3 for Folder 0001 (on the left pane)if you have the Display1_DownScalingSupported. In my case, I lack the Display1_DownScalingSupported key on Folder 001 so I will be making it. :) Again, navigate to Folder 0001.
On the right pane, right click on a blank portion, point in New and choose DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Rename the New Value#1 to Display1_DownScalingSupported then click Enter.
Again, double click Display1_DownScalingSupported and then change Value data from "0" to "1".
5. Now, restart your computer.
After reboot, right click on desktop and the choose Screen resolution.
Screen resolution menu will then pop up. Hover down the Resolution: drop-down menu and.. Voila! New higher screen resolutions!
Hope I'd help someone! You're welcome! :)
