yknow what? TENBLANK kinda reminds me of an existing band i've been obsessing over with.
yknow the japanese band Gesu No Kiwami Otome (ゲスの極み乙女)? yes, that's the band that TENBLANK kinda reminds me of.
similar lineups yet both bands have entirely different songwriting. i'll explain what i meant by that.
Fujitani Naoki - he does bass, kinda like what Kyujitsu Kacho does. i mean, Kacho does sing, but only in a very few amount of Gesu's songs (Himenai Watashi for example). but for Fujitani... he sings in every song, so it's like he's a mix of Kyujitsu Kacho and another member i'll explain.
Takaoka Sho - i doubt Takaoka ever sings, but he plays guitar like Enon Kawatani (yes, the guy who was accused of adultery in 2016). i dunno, it feels quite specific that they made Fujitani sing but not Takaoka.
Saijo Akane - she lowkey is like Hona Ikoka: female drummers with sick drum beats. both dyed their hair (well actually Saijo dyed her's once and later went back to black hair in the Kazushi/Akane episode and so on LMAO). whenever i see Ikoka, i'd like to think of Saijo nowadays.
Sakamoto Kazushi - i think it's pretty much obvious like with Saijo but he's a keyboardist like chanMARI. though i don't think chanMARI plays bass. she does sing (again, Himenai Watashi), but i think Sakamoto plays a similar role cuz he does chorus vocals.
tldr: tenblank basically reminds me of gesu no kiwami otome cuz of their really similar lineup, but gesu's songwriting is very different unlike tenblank's.

Chanmari
6 & 7. Which character developed feelings first? Which character confessed their feelings first?
Answering together because I think it's tidier that way but short version; Chang developed them first but Mario confessed first. I feel like Chang is the kind of person who has kind of mellow feelings in general; he doesn't get super duper attached super fast, but he knows when his feelings are like "I want to be with you" etc. I do also feel like Chang is a bit ace-spec and so while he has those feelings he's perfectly happy just being friends with Mario and doesn't need that to change, things are good as they are.
Mario is definitely someone who, when he realizes he has feelings, has to tell them; or rather can't hide it. He's a lot more emotionally immature and emotionally expressive and he'd definitely tell Chang, and probably cry about it because what if that's not okay!!! But it makes room for Chang to kind of relax about his own feelings and reassure Mario about his; they're fine, and now they both know those feelings are there. Yay ^-^
10. Do they have anything they dont like about one another?
I feel like Mario doesn't really have anything against Chang consciously, though that's not a good thing exactly; he kind of holds Chang on a pedestal a bit and reveres him and expects him to be super responsible and good at everything, and so when Chang eventually isn't able to meet that standard it's going to break down his image and he'll have to realize that Chang is just a normal guy too.
Chang definitely thinks that Mario is impulsive and naive; and while the latter is fine and he even envies it a little bit, the impulsivity is hard to deal with. He's still young and immature and needs to learn to keep himself in check.
Muraichi
8. What was their first date like?
They did not know they were on a date but everyone around them did. Honestly it was probably something like they were hanging out at a cafe or diner or something and when the server came around like "any dessert for you or your partner ^-^" they were like HUH? WHAT? After which I think Murakami was the one who kind of started realizing ohhhhh that's what that feeling is oh. Okay. Ichijou still does not figure it out for a long fucking time, he's just like why does everyone think we're a fucking couple?! but then glares when a girl flirts with Murakami. Okay man
9. What are their love languages?
So I have never fully understood whether love languages refers to what the person wants or if it's what the person does for their partner. I think it's supposed to be the former?? SO I am going to work under that assumption: it's what they want.
Murakami's is probably likeee quality time I would say, he just likes being able to hang out with no real stakes involved; you don't have to spend money on him or go anywhere too special, he just likes being in the company of the people he loves yknow?
I would say Ichijou's is like a kind of twisted version of words of affirmation with a bit of gift giving....he is a high tier princess and expects to be treated as such. Grovel for him and shower him in beautiful things and he will be satisfied.
For both of them this becomes especially true during their Teiai years which...is kind of why things get really tense and rocky between them. Ichijou can't just spend time with Murakami how he'd want, and while Murakami may still revere Ichijou and treat him like a goddess it's different now: Ichijou is his superior and so he's kind of expected to treat him a certain way; it loses the allure of Murakami just treating him like that because. They make do the best that they can but they very much are not thriving in Teiai.
10. Do they have anything they dont like about one another?
So much actually.
Murakami is fully aware that Ichijou is a very difficult person to deal with. While he himself is fine with his attitude, he tends to get upset at Ichijou's selfish bullying when it's directed towards others; friends of his and such, or when it goes so so far that even Murakami can't deal with his shit behaviour. You know the chapter. He's someone that won't listen no matter what, and a lot of things that have happened to Ichijou were completely preventable if he'd just behave himself. He's completely incapable of empathizing with others unless it somehow relates to himself and while that doesn't usually bother Murakami, it can get to him if he's in a vulnerable state. Ichijou also just has a painful habit of projecting his insecurities onto everyone around him and it's damaged relationships.
Ichijou's primary bone to pick with Murakami is....kind of something that he's been entirely feeding on purpose and that is his malleability and lack of "fight". Whatever Ichijou says, Murakami does; and while he's enjoyed that and encouraged it, that behaviour comes back to bite him during the Teiai years. Ichijou knows he's in a shit situation but he's too proud to pull himself out of it. He wants Murakami to man up and tell him as much to his face, so that he can have an excuse to get out; but that doesn't happen. Because he's trained Murakami to be loyal to a fault. Even if this is all bad for both of them, Murakami absolutely will not raise his concerns to Ichijou because doing so crushes Ichijou's dream to rise to the top in Teiai. It goes against Ichijou's wishes. And Murakami is a bit too dense to realize that Ichijou is trying to push him to shatter that dream anyway. So as a result, while Ichijou's main enemy as he's sent to the underground is undeniably Kaiji, he absolutely holds a deep and intense resentment toward Murakami for never saving him like he was supposed to. BRO YOU DID THAT
26. How would they celebrate things like birthdays, valentines day, anniversaries, etc..?
Birthdays are a whole fucking mess as we know; Murakami is very good at gifting and celebrating, he's used to it all and knows the etiquette around it, meanwhile not only is Ichijou bad at these things, he has a whole fucking complex about getting older and his own birthday so we end up with this really terrible tangle where trying to celebrate fucking sucks no matter what. Ichijou is not going to get better at gift giving and he's also not going to get better at gift receiving and so birthdays are pretty much a nuclear danger zone at all times.
Anniversaries and valentine's I think they would have an easier time with because there's more of a standard custom that does not involve needing to understand the person. Anniversary? Flowers. Valentine's? Chocolate. There is a framework Ichijou can fall back on (but I think he would still get like, discounted chocolate if he can.....lmfao) During the Teiai years it probably gets more extravagant because in the absence of any fucking joy in their lives they have to pretend things are awesome and great by splurging on expensive dinner and fancy champagne and expensive flowers and shit like that to pretend that any of this is worth it. But the excess never feels good. In a post-Underground world I think that they would turn back to the cheap chocolate and simple flowers and maybe they cook something nice for each other....the simple gifts were always better.
Ichikai
16. What would they do to surprise one another?
Honestly Kaiji's favourite thing to do is, when they're bickering and being bratty to each other and Ichijou tries to goad him into insults, he just turns on the suuuuuper sweetypie earnest charm to freeze him in place. What!!! You're supposed to snark back!!!! It's his most deadly surprise attack and he loves bringing it out unexpectedly.
Ichijou's version of this is like...listening to Kaiji no questions asked. It's weird for him to do that and Kaiji is constantly waiting for the shoe to drop that Ichijou is going to demand something of him in return for his sudden kindness but no, that's the point, it's the surprise!
I feel like they do also just enjoy surprising one another in the more traditional sense but like, in a fucked up harebrained insane kind of way. Are they planning a surprise dinner for each other? Well they're going to start dropping weird clues that something's up and lead each other on a fucking stupid wild goose chase about it until they figure out what's going on. They're both insane idiots whose brains take them to stupid conclusions and they're doing L and Light shit to each other for fun.
26. How would they celebrate things like birthdays, valentines day, anniversaries, etc..?
Honestly? They might not. Kaiji is someone who probably does like celebrating things, but also isn't so good at remembering them; and on the other hand Ichijou is painfully good at remembering dates but does not like to celebrate most things ever at all. In a weird way this kind of works to their advantage because if Kaiji doesn't remember, then Ichijou doesn't feel like he has to step out of that comfort and figure out what constitutes as "celebrating" or have to think about gifts or spend money needlessly.
Even if Kaiji does remember and suggest they do something special, it probably won't be anything crazy because while he likes celebrating he doesn't like doing extravagant things. Like going out for drinks or getting dinner somewhere slightly nicer is enough. And I think that Ichijou can bear something like that.
More than anything, their "celebrations" are probably just like....being nicer to each other on a special day, lol. Ichijou may not go out of his way to remind Kaiji of an anniversary or anything that he's forgotten, but he will be lenient when he makes mistakes or act kindly and such.
When it comes to birthdays, neither of them are perfect at remembering when it is, and both are kind of fine with that. If they miss a birthday they can still do something nice for each other a different day, it doesn't really matter what day it is.
just found these 2 year old drawings of mario and chang left over from an abandoned wip and i felt i needed to share them
collection of chanmaris. eventually they both become women and that's when things get REALLY awesome
