I only just finished the first one. Hearing that the ending sucks makes me feel less invested in reading the rest. =\ Why does this happen with so many series?

Oh definitely don’t let this ruin the series for you! The ending really wasn’t terrible, I enjoyed the series as a whole! There were just some things that really annoyed me with the end of it.

I really like that story at the end of your answer. It’s a really encouraging thing for me to tell myself when I’m having a hard time. I needed to hear that. =)

I first heard an account of that story about 3 and a half years ago and it's stuck with me ever since. Glad you found it helpful. :)
