So maybe not lucky but fortunate. I understand you with men and women being on equal terms. It's just very difficult here when you try to he respectful towards all people and then you still get treated like trash for doing so. Sometimes you wanna cry

I've been there but not with guys but girls. My whole high school experiance was me treating people like human beings and girls treating me like I was a speck of dirt that dared cross their line of vision. That was also the moment when the only ones that befriended me and treated me with respect, and still do to this day, are boys. That's why I was pissed at that statment that all men are pigs, because when I was at my lowest point in life, the ones that showed me that people are good were actually guys. And now 7 years later they continue to be really close friends of mine.

Consider yourself lucky to live in a place where women aren't looked down upon for every single thing they do. Honestly.

I do think myself lucky, honestly. I'm not saying there aren't bad men here, no. That whole idea that women are lesser than man has been embeded into the male mind ever since the stone age, where the men did the dirty work and the women stayed home. Thing is men don't realise what women have to do until they have to actually do it. My country is poor and most families can't afford to have only one person working = the man. So in order to live a normal life, I guess with time, men started helping women out at home, because they worked all day too and couldn't do the house work as well. That, I think, made men realise that women had it tough and stopped looking down on them. Here both man and woman are equal parts of the force that maintains a stable life. Long gone are the ideas that staying in the kitchen is a woman's job.
