favourite movies: Chaplin (1992) A movie about the troubled and controversial life of the master comedy filmmaker Charlie Chaplin.
With the biopic Stan and Ollie now in theaters (although not playing anywhere near me, sadly) I thought I’d take a look at one of the more well-known silent star biopics, Richard Attenborough…
Here are my thoughts one of the more well known star biopics, which everyone seems to love. Well...almost everyone. ;-)
Just finished this movie. I love it. I saw it in high school and I think it's my first movie of RDJ. Idk I think he is like Chaplin some how. The way he interest in the mcu. I think is the same way Chaplin did with his work. Maybe?

Robert Downey Jr & David Duchovny as Charlie Chaplin & Rollie Totheroh in Richard Attenborough’s 1992 film “Chaplin”.
Discarded scene, RDJ in costume for “The Cure”. Would have loved to see this in the film. Robert Downey (despite a year of intense training learning his artistry and movements) spent very little time as the tramp in the film.

Scene shows Charlie Chaplin arriving back home in England in 1921 and being told of the death of first love Hetty Kelly 3 years prior.
Fred Karno: Trying to impress that dancer Hetty -wasn’t that her name?
Charlie: Hetty Kelly
Fred Karno: I could see that you fancied her. Sad.
Charlie: I know all about it. She got married. She sent me a lovely note. I’ve got it with me somewhere.
Fred Karno: Oh, Charlie, Charlie. Don’t you know? Has nobody told you? She’s gone! The flu epidemic after the war carried her away. I though someone must have told you. Must have written. Didn’t nobody?
