I'm late to the party, I know, but I liked the small interaction between Vegapunk 01 (Shaka) and the Strawhats.

It felt like it was normal to befriend the Strawhats and then he left the crew.

It made me smile. Thanks to Dragon's connection with the scientist, Luffy and his friends are safe there.

It feels like Dragon is protecting Luffy far away thanks to his allies. It seems Dragon talked about his son to Vegapunk.

Otherwise, the scientist wouldn't put into Kuma's brain the mission to protect the Thousand Sunny.

He wouldn't even understand the need. Otherwise, the boat would destroyed right away.

Now I'm curious. Under which circumstances the scientist and Dragon met?

Is Shaka the only one who's an ally of Revolutionary Army?

Are his "siblings" aware of his alliance with Dragon?

This chapter brings some answers and raises other questions.

1065! Don’t think I need to say much about how time came up as a theme in a big, big way. More on that below the jump since I want to be mindful of a big spoiler, and more on the nature of this big Chekov’s Gun Zoro’s loading up. It comes up in a predictable way later...but don’t ignore there are three incoming CP0 Agents. Dismissing Cairbou leaves two up on deck. Keep an eye out for some late night Togashiposting that’ll tiptoe around that side of things

That’s two chapters in a row we’ve echoed this big beat of people having trouble fighting an illusion of loved ones. Neither are a spitting image with the knowledge the real body underneath is still a former friend, but that’s a big point in my favoer if we’re talking which Wano story is extending into Egghead. Type of thing that could lead a lot of directions so we’ll just note the observation. The real grand daddeh is of course:

A big Void Century reveal. A gamechanger. Void Century lore is not that surprising to be honest, but I’ll tell you one thing. Don’t expect a full info dump for the same reason you should have known Luffy wouldn’t care much about Oden’s physical journal. Forget Oden though, with this timing you know the mystery lady I hope starts to factor into things more. Kozuki Toki. Think about what this twist means for her perspective, that’s a neat wrinkle right? 

This was a big thing when we did the flashback in the main Every Okiku push so for a refresher on the idea. Kiku has a fair few little moments that, when you learn about Toki’s character, make it clear in hindsight who her big female role model is. There’s a logic to that bond; Toki would have known Izo already and it’s intuitive a young mother with two kids on her own might lean on the 16yo girl in the samurai clan to play babysitter more than warrior for a while.

I can't wait another week... It escalated too much in just a few chapters.

(Still, Vodka is the organisation's comic relief, I don't understand why they keep him around. He's like a mascot)
