Decided to do a fun little thing over on patreon (which is free for everyone to view), and did a collage of all of the chapter thumbnails thus far, to include the upcoming chapter 9.  Now it took me about 4 1/2 years to get to this point, but I’m sticking with it and want to see the comic to the very end (no matter how long it takes me to get there), and I hope others will continue to join me on this comic experimental journey that I lovingly call my Side Quest

Wake me up inside (Save me)/Chapter 3 Motive

The bear was so satisfied with the last murder, It was brutal and everyone was somewhat affected! Maybe now they’ll turn against each other without a motive! Except the bear was wrong and angry! How dare these children not kill each other? Do they know where they are?

So he took a few more days than normal to think up the best kind of motive, and then he had it.

The bear danced on to the screens of every room and giggled at all of the children. “Hello, Bastards! I’m here to tell you all about this new plan here! I’m going to tighten security! Watch you fellows, at all moments of the day now! Right on top of that! Nobody is allowed to sleep! That’s right! No sleep! If I catch you sleeping you’ll be shot! Right on sight! I mean of course I’ll check if you’re really sleeping or not first, it wouldn’t be fair for me to just assume! But nobody can sleep a wink until someone kills!”

The bear laughed and laughed until the screens went dark, better hope you got a good nights rest last night.

Knock, Knock. Who’s there? A body! ... Wait... What...?

Two whole days had passed since Nurse ‘Kuma had cut the power for the first time. True to his word, the first day got four hours of light, the second three, and now the third day’s meager two hours has everyone’s a bit high strung. Not much can be seen at all during the dark hours unless you lucked out and received a room with a window. But even then there wasn’t much light offered.

Nothing important seems to be happening, it’s all just... Floating on by it seems. Sure everyone’s a little scared, or on edge, but for the most part... It’s nothing.

Until the clock strikes 9 AM and the power cuts once more. Three people, Naoya, Azmera, and Elijah, walk into the kitchen and approach the counter, only for one to notice something at the edge of their flashlight’s light. The three exchange looks and the flashlight is shifted up and aimed right at a blank face. A loud gasp sounds and the power snaps back on right as Elijah screams.

Tsuchiya Etsu, the SHSL Confectioner, is dead.
