#Am I a mood killer if I say not enough ss/kk. Becau—#Idkkk please forgive me? I do on a detached level feel like wow this is huge! Massive plot development and character development!#Unfortunately this is kyouka-supremacy on Tumblr dot com and they weren't really kidding when they said they only care about ss/kk #(deep sigh). And I'm happy she had a role in capturing Dostoyevsky!#Overall the chapter was good and tbh I think I would be quite excited about it–#if it had come out in like 2023 and wasn't coming out after a high of ss/kk moments #Oh well...#On a storywriting standpoint I think it's to be appreciated how the author chose to add depth to the relationship between Atsushi and the–#director. Like I think chapter 39 alone was pretty poor in taste–#but the elaboration on Atsushi's feelings of this chapter and also chapters 122-123 add complexity to it #I do after all this time still feel like bsd's worldview is wayyyyy too cynical for me.#“Goodness and virtue aren't the truth of this world” they are to me. F #The world starts being good the moment we believe it to be etc etc #But like. I can appreciate a worldview that's different from mine.#It's perhaps the very reason I can enjoy b/sd because I like challenging my beliefs #Other than that... Uhm.........#i liked every panel with Atsushi and Akutaga on it 👍 There were a few very 👌#I also kinda love the vibes of Akutagawa just being There as Atsushi's supportive husband wife. Like he's literally just standing there #But I really wish more emphasis was given to the moment of them merging their abilities... I wish we'd seen something new...#Back to square one. I wish more emphasis was on ss/kk I don't care about anything else ( ╥ ᴗ ╥)#I'm sorry. I've said it a million times in the past‚ I'm shallow like that #BUT the meta-literature fourth-wall-breaky turn of the plot is extremely 👀👀👀#I've always been saying that the meta-literature is truly the strongest point of b/sd as a story!! #chapter rambles #THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTINGGGGGGG #Omg. Ss/kk angst FINALLY oh my God. It's been so long they were getting all mushy #So much going on I have no idea where to start #Okay first off. Akutagawa looks very elegant. He's finally using Rashomon like he used to and it's very nice to see #On the other hand. Yet again not helping my “Akutagawa is very dumb” agenda 😔#At this point that might be considered plain canon contradicting 😪😪#You can really see resurface in this chapter one of this arc's predominant themes “is sacrificing a few worth the saving of the most”#It's precisely the same moral dilemma Fukuchi had to face and it's a little ironical a little cruel that now Atsushi has to face it himself #Like Fukuchi felt so easy to blame. But when it's the protagonist having to make that choice...#My first thought when Akutagawa hit Atsushi was “ooooohh he's punching him because he won't allow to lose him again”.#But that was definitely too wide of wishful thinking (≧▽≦)#What else... Ngl I'm lowkey relieved Akutagawa is back being his ruthless self. Even though I feel like it may be just me lol.#But I like an Akutagawa who's corrupt and morally ambiguous #The only thing I'm a little perplexed? About this chapter is the very last two panels?#That feature Akutagawa meeting Atsushi with some kind of contempt? Like he really thought Atsushi was inadequate #Contempt is a kind of emotion that I thought Akutagawa didn't feel for Atsushi and hadn't felt for a long time 🤔#So I'll have to think about it for some time #Oh I really really like how Akutagawa spells out “these actions of yours are good.”#Like he really acknowledges Atsushi is good (and maybe even that Akutagawa himself isn't)#Mmmmmmmmhhh I'll be shutting up but >:/ Wasted opportunity for another ss/kk color spread tbh #random rambles
