Someone asked for cosplay advice. Here's how I do what I understand to be character bounding. I'm also sick so sorry about my handwriting.

Channeling my inner Furfur today.
💚💚💚
Because I was pumped about getting my Bad Day at Black Rock bundle from Kickstarter yesterday, I decided I would character bound as Nicole at work today.
Going to see Six tonight and I'm pretty much Character Bounding Anne Boleyn XD
((OOC Becci: JAMIE WILL BE DOING MALE ESMERALDA FOR GOING SOMEWHERE. CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THAT!))
Closet Cosplay/Character-bounding
New to cosplay and don't really feel confident at going into this new hobby all the way? Closet closplay or character-bounding might be the direction for you! Don't know what that is, I'm happy to explain. Closet closplay/character-bounding is simple (if you are doing Disney characters there is an amazing blog called The Disneybound that is very much worth looking into. It's one of my faves for inspiration). It's wearing something similar to what the character you are inspired by would wear if they were to be in our world. Or Color blocking and using accessories. Finding pieces that are similar but not exact are keys. It's not cosplay. Cosplay is reflecting, being exact. Where closet cosplay/character-bounding is more relaxed. The other day I was out with my best friend and managed to find basic pieces of closet cosplay/character-bounding. AUDERY, Daughter of Sleeping Beauty (Disney's Descendants)
Pair this with light blue jeans and it's a simple bound. You'll probably have to explain what you are bounding but it's also a good way to start a conversation and make friends. KING BEN, Son of King Beast and Queen Belle (Disney's Descendants)
The rose on the jacket acts as a good way to represent who his parents are and the back embroidery is similar to the embroidery he has on the suit he wears on his coronation suit. While the shirt has the colors of not only his father but the school he attends. EVIE, Daughter of The Evil Queen -genderbend (Disney's Descendants)
My friend was already wearing blue jeans, a grey shirt, and black hightops. Adding this bomber jacket, that is the exact blue of Evie's signature leather cape jacket, with the rose patches that adds the pop of red like her poisoned heart necklace completes the look. 707, Choi Saeyoung (Mystic Messenger)
And last but not least this simple yet extremely similar look for my favorite RFA Member. Add a pair of blue jeans and walk around with a Dr. Pepper while wearing headphones and you'll be set! All these tops and jackets were found at Forever 21. Hopefully this was helpful and encourages you to try out closet cosplay or character bounding. I personally started out character bounding and still do it for everyday outings. It's fun and low key while still allowing the weeb in you to shine! (-DFrills)
I put together a character bounding outfit inspired by The One-Eyed Flashback.
Not a cosplay —
just a matching vibe, like we’re wearing outfits from the same scene.
Same palette, different silhouettes.
Sharing the mood, not the costume.
I’m planning to wear this to this year’s Detective Conan concert.
Everyone in this visual shares the same color scheme,
but each character wears something different.
So I chose a sheer blouson, something that doesn’t overlap with anyone else.
I adjusted the top and bottom colors so they wouldn’t match Ran or Yui exactly,
but I still wanted to feel like part of the Nagano group —
that balance is what I aimed for.
Since the female characters wear white pom-pom accessories,
I’m planning to tie my hair with a pom-pom hair tie.

Working on something for TFcon LA 2025!
(Ignore my non existent tan I look like a ghost rn)
