Chewing at the bars of my enclosure again thinking about how Hob and Orpheus are foils
Full 1800s Sandflowerling agenda is here
I just rewatched 2.08 and can I just say how much I hate the "Yes, it's taken me 600 years, but I am finally in therapy" line? Like, Hob, my guy, what we know today as therapy didn't exist until the late 19th century, and even then it didn't start to see widespread use among adults until the mid to late 20th.
Therapy is such a modern thing! Why does Hob talk about it like he's had access to it for all 600 years?? I love that we get a scene where Hob (more or less) gets closure with Dream, but I hate this line!!
Also, unrelated, but this is the most comically full glass of wine I have ever seen
Awww imagine Hob’s adopted 15 year old daughter opening up to him and Morpheus for the first time! Also imagine her calling both of them Dad for the first time 🥰 And she’s just so happy living in the Dreaming and is just amazed about the realm and loves her Dads and new family💜💜💜
SO CUTE
I just know when she calls them dad for the first time they are both in shock and are just like ‘🥹 yes I am dad’. Morpheus keeps it well together then proceeds to melt in the privacy of his bedroom while Hob gives her a big ol bear hug trying not to cry while she laughs and hugs him back
Also brings up the hilarity of her walking in and saying ‘dad?’ And they both perk up and her shaking her head ‘not you dad, you dad’ and needs Hob for something (also not Morpheus being sad cuz she didn’t need his help this time so it gets bit cloudy outside)
Also also everyone in the Dreaming is ‘uncle/aunt’ because I find it funny! Uncle Matthew and Mervyn, Uncle Cain and Abel, Aunt Lucienne, etc 😂
in my mind they act like morticia and gomez addams
