Lance has a fear that at some point he'll 'scare' off Helena. He really likes her and at times will hold himself back from doing something stupid, just so he won't scare her off - even if that's unlikely to happen.

He really, really likes to see her smile. He has a fear that at some point, she's just going to stop smiling (even at his lame jokes) and he can't stand that thought, because she deserves to be happy.

He has an inherit fear that at some point, some time in life, he is going to disappoint or fail Cass. She's his little sister and he wants to be able to protect her and make her proud, though he's not sure he can do that.

Lance fears that he'll never get the chance to finally confess to Marie that he's been in love with her since she pulled him out of the garbage all those years ago, when they were both just starting out. He fears the job will get to her, and that she'll never know how much she really means to him.

He fears that Tommy will be taken advantage of (emotionally or otherwise) when Tommy's family or himself aren't looking - and he can't stand that thought because he has high hopes for Tommy, because he's a good kid and he doesn't want him to have to suffer.

He knows that Barry has an inherit kindness and that he has a tendency to beat himself up over just about anything - he fears that someone will take advantage of that and Lance just can't stand the thought.

Lance fears that this Dickie will go down a self-destructive path, like he had started down when he was younger. He really hopes he can help prevent that, but he's not sure he's strong enough to.
