Character Synopses
Quinn - A hot-tempered, mischievous, materialistic, elf-blooded warrior with a fondness for great swords and a talent for cracking heads. A one-time associate of the druid Kavan, she finds the two of them drawn together once again when a mysterious stranger pays her for her assistance in a mysterious venture.
Kavan - A cheerful, empathetic druid who puts the safety and well-being of the natural world above all other things, save, perhaps, the warrior Quinn. Formerly partners, the two were separated for several years, only for Kavan to reunite with Quinn when she and her fox companion Naava offer their assistance to a dark-clothed stranger.
Briala - An elven rogue, aloof in personality and behavior. A wanderer by nature, she is drawn into the mysterious stranger's plans with the promise of high reward and a plea for her help.
Barrel - A boisterous and kind-hearted cleric, possessed of powerful healing magic. As loyal to his friends as he is to his patron, he will defend his compatriots to his last breath. Strangely, he appears to have a fascination with ogres, which are known to be non-existent. Partnered with the elven monk Avarice, in more ways than one, and the bard Cha-nazi, he, too, accepts the stranger's money in exchange for his help.
Avarice - Barrel's elven monk partner, in both business and pleasure. An exile from her monastery due to her less than respectful attitude for their rules, she travels with Barrel and Cha-nazi in search of material wealth, of which the masked man assures her there will be plenty.
Cha'nanzi - Barrel and Ava's silver-tongued bard partner. As likely to spin a story as he is to tell the truth, he uses his vast knowledge to manipulate events and people, though he doesn't always make the wisest decisions when it comes to picking his battles. He follows his associates into the masked man's schemes in exchange for wealth.
Freyja - A young elven rogue with a tragic past, on the run from her former master. Once a member of a traveling circus, she has developed her acrobatic abilities quite well, though her more rogue-ish abilities leave a bit to be desired. Unlike the rest of the Fab Protags, she is forced into the mysterious stranger's plans when he threatens to reveal her location to those searching for her.
Heath Barre - In the politest terms, the blandest paladin in all the land. A stickler for rules and regulations, and not much else, he accepts payment from the mysterious masked man (after much convincing and threatening from his superiors).

Ilva Swift
Badge and Rabbit by Vertigale.
Born as simply Genevive, a bastard child of a maid and some man of station between cook and baron, this agile, whip-thin girl ran away from her mother at age six. She gave herself the name "Ilva Swift" and even the one person alive in the world who can get away with calling her "Ginny" tends to get bitten for it. As a tiny, dimpled, adorable six-year-old, she joined up with a gang of street urchins as one of the baiters - her big green eyes, sunny blonde hair, dimpled smile, and seemingly genuine tears distracted many a tender-hearted youth while another nimble-fingered child lifted his purse.
By fourteen, she found it harder and harder to fend off not just her marks but members of her own gang and she sought out the protection of Miss Rivanna Treelily, a madam who ran a brothel in Gilneas's Merchant Square. It was here she picked up a talent for changing her looks to suit the expectations of her clients. Life as a doxy was just as profitable and a good deal safer, except for the one time a classy gent with cold brown eyes came to the brothel and left behind a mutilated corpse which had been Ilva's roommate. Ilva found herself unable to work the sheets after that, and at nineteen, she went back to the streets - but now with better knowledge of who the rich men were and where they kept their mistresses' households.
As bad luck would have it, she was in the midst of a fine breaking-and-entering job in the middle of the night in a lovely house just off the Cathedral District when slavering wolfish hell-beasts broke down the door. She managed to beat one of the cursed worgen back with a chair leg, but her screams when the second latched onto her thigh brought a curious savior to her side - a man dressed in the uniform of a Gilnean prison guardsman. Despite the fact that she was obviously a trespasser in this fancy house, the man with a carefully-trimmed beard and a rambunctious glint in his eye shot the other worgen off her and dragged her outside. With nothing more than a pat on her leather-covered rear, he sent her off into the rioting night.
Of course, worgen bites transmit the curse and Ilva became afflicted. Feral and wild, she fled the fighting in the city and roamed the coastline for several days. When the quakes struck, the terrified worgen girl scampered for shelter in the wreckage of a small boat - where a man lay unconscious next to a rather appealing-smelling package of meat. She'd eaten the meat and begun sniffing around the unconscious man when he woke up and kicked her. Naturally, she bit him. And that's when the alchemical mixture hidden in the package of meat kicked in and suddenly there was a whip-thin human girl sinking her teeth into the calf of a man with a carefully-trimmed beard and a rambunctious glint in his eye. Well, more of a murderous glint at the time, given that she was biting him and had just eaten a curative meant for someone else.
Ilva's dimpled smile and winsome looks managed to win her savior over twice and he reluctantly found himself hauling along a girl nearly half his age as they fled Gilneas to meet up with the rest of his bandit team, only to find the team had perished while waiting for his return in Southshore. For her part, Ilva had an incurable crush on Boyd "Norm" MacNormelton and she convinced him that she had plenty of skills he could use to rebuild his schemes for riches. Ilva and Norm have been mostly inseparable ever since.
An engineer of acceptable talent, Ilva can only use plans with clear drawings - as she is almost entirely illiterate. Time and the encouragement of an inveterate con-man honed her skill at disguises and she regularly dons wigs and paint and a variety of attire to pull off one scheme or another. She has a weakness for candy, particularly lemon drops. As Norm's companion, she ended up in the service of the Canal Street Baker, occasionally feeding him street gossip and playing spygames for cupcakes and profit.
Of late, she and Norm have been seen with a traveling carnival show rumored to have originated in Gilneas - the Blackwald Carnival. She's been seen performing a handful of times as an acrobat, but their association with the caravan seems loose at best as they are not always present with the troupe.
