OCKiss 23 Prompt 2 - Food
Gadget’s hand grabbed at an empty plate.
She glanced over at the plate. All the food was gone - food she hadn’t even realized she was eating.
What time was it anyways?
Gadget turned her attention back to her computer. She was halfway through an article on blacksmithing. It wasn’t what she had sat down to do - one of her favorite martial artists had released a new video, and that had sent her down the research rabbit hole.
According to the clock, she had been on her computer for five hours. Oops.
Gadget pushed her chair back, stretching her arms out. She should get up and do something.
It was after dinner. If Neuron hadn’t brought her food, she would be starved.
Neuron was probably still in the kitchen, cleaning up. If she went down now, she could get a few minutes alone with him. And she needed to take her dirty dishes back anyways.
Gadget grabbed the dishes and headed down the stairs from her office to the kitchen. As she thought, Neuron was still there. He gave Gadget a wide smile when she arrived.
“Thanks for the food,” Gadget said, putting the dishes next to the rest of the dirty dishes.
“You ate it all?” Neuron asked.
“Apparently,” Gadget replied. She opened the fridge, looking for a drink.
“Learn anything interesting?” Neuron asked.
“That we’re out of drinks,” Gadget muttered. She poured herself a glass of water.
“Isn’t it your turn to order groceries?” Neuron teased.
“Is it?” Gadget asked. “I’ll tell Tsu to do it tomorrow.”
Gadget stepped closer to him and gave him a peck on his cheek.
“Thanks, again, for the food. I wouldn’t have eaten if you hadn’t brought anything.”
