which OC is the evilest >:D
Uh…of non-spoiler characters, that’s definitely Wolf from Inkblot. Trying to take control of the city by taking control of people’s minds - that’s kind of evil.

9,12,23 for the headcanons :)
Thank you for the asks!
9 Looks sweet but will murder you in cold blood
…Talya, probably. Running the tech black market in Sapphire makes you like that.
12 Wants to run away from everything
Sadie definitely takes it on this one, although to a lesser extent Rigel. But Sadie - a lot of her life approach is just ‘get as far away as possible from anything bad’ - and that’s a pretty broad definition.
23 Will laugh as they kill you
Wolf, no question. Ruthless, cold, and - yes! - predatorial - she’ll kill you with no qualms whatsoever and be just fine with it. The laughing only comes if she really doesn’t like you.
Character Smiles
So I saw an ask post somewhere to describe characters’ smiles, and I thought that might be really fun! So here they are, for the Empty Space, Anechoic, and new Inkblot crews!
Sadie’s smile is quick and fleeting, often showing more in her eyes than her mouth. There’s a certain innocence to it, even as the scientists tinkered and modified her for a war she’d never fight in. It’s the only part of her, the only part of Sadie they couldn’t touch.
Kjiersten’s smile is frequent, almost constant, and yet despite this frequency is always fully sincere. It’s the sort of smile that addresses everyone individually, giving a warmth and understanding that’s somehow exactly what you needed.
Anechoi’s smile is more sardonic than not, lopsided as though she’s sharing a private joke - and with VAL, she often is. Cynical and jaded, this is often a smile that comes at her own expense, just as a carefully-crafted plan falls to pieces.
Fasir’s smile is one of curiosity, accompanied by a gleam in his eye that indicates time for an hours-long research session. It comes at the strangest of times, latching onto bits of information nobody thought was important.
Mazda has the smile of an ancient and powerful race, as befits the last of the najifirs. Imposing, dignified, and always hinting at the edge of their fangs, it’s a smile of knowledge and a distinct feeling crossing them would be the last thing you ever did.
Persei’s smile is simple arrogance. The smile of someone absolutely in control of the situation; more importantly, the smile of someone who knows it. Given what she controls, it’s no exaggeration to say that when she smiles, worlds burn.
Rigel’s smile is always a little uncertain, a little worried that this isn’t something she should be smiling at. It’s a break in her facade, a break in the image she’s created to survive, and even now it’s difficult to show off her emotions like that.
Wolf’s smile is that of a - well, a wolf. Hungry and calculating, there’s no joy behind it. It speaks of power, speaks of the control she exerts over her thralls. By the time she smiles, she’s already won.
28, 15, 10 for Mintaka and Wolf?
Thank you!
10 What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?
Mintaka: As the Systems representative in the Forum, they do a fair bit of ‘misrepresentation’ on the Systems’ behalf. So most frequently lie is a political one, and used in recruitment - saying the Systems are the best of the factions and so on. It does haunt them, eventually, but for reasons I can’t say yet (spoilers!).
Wolf: Many, many lies (for instance, that she actually cares about the city). She regrets absolutely none of them.
15 How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?
Mintaka: Rehearsed, stiff, formal. He has trouble switching back and forth between ‘representative’ voice and ‘normal’ voice, so he sticks to his ‘representative’ voice most times. And everything he says he does run through in his head, but usually not more than once.
Wolf: Their style of speaking is…casual arrogance. It’s not the formal ‘I speak like this to appear more highbrow’, it’s the ‘I talk to everybody the same way: with barely hidden contempt’. It’s not rehearsed, but she usually knows what she wants to say before she starts talking.
28 Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth?
Mintaka: He’d prefer to hear the unpleasant truth, but he’d much rather tell someone a lie than that truth. More diplomatic, you see.
Wolf: Always the unpleasant truth. She finds it almost fun to give out bad news just to watch the other person’s reaction.
a dead body is his calling card. she knows each of the wolves kill differently. some with teeth and some with claws (the alpha has a reputation for playing with his food). he leaves smiles. knives the edge of their lips, carves them up and out. come and find me, he says through his fangs. i'm waiting for you. i'm watching you. * she sees it once. his grin. his real one. not what he usually leaves her with: a flash of fangs and a horrible laugh. she holds the gun to his face and he just laughs and laughs and laughs. she holds the gun to his face and he swallows the muzzle. well, he says without saying, aren't you going to shoot? there's a bang. (she's not sure what she's seeing and what she's not. not sure whether the bones grow or his grin stretches wide, wide, wider - or if nothing changes at all.) he spits out the bullet. "you're getting sloppy, red."
