Icon Change!
October is Spooky Month™. However, it is also Keith Month™, since his birthday is later this month, and thus clearly the entire month is his birthday month. Therefore, what better icon to change to than one of Alan cosplaying Keith for Halloween?!
Of course, Manon would readily call him out on wearing his scarf, still, since Keith obviously doesn’t wear that scarf, but Alan would just counter with, “It’s cold outside.”
And you know, it being Halloween (or whatever the PokéWorld equivalent is---I haven’t come up with it yet), it probably is. Manon would huff, and would point out that Keith doesn’t have that Key Stone pendant either, but like hell Alan is taking that off. Anyway, Alan is clearly in charge of taking the younger siblings out trick-or-treating, he’s the chaperone, and when it was decided they were going for a Voltron: Legendary Defender theme that year, it was unanimously decided (before he had a chance to put in a word edgewise) that Alan had to be Keith. He had to be. And since Keith is a cool character (that he has more in common with than is perhaps comfortable), Alan would agree with this.
Manon pretty much immediately decided that she wanted to go as Pidge. Bonnie argued that Clemont should be Pidge, since he already has the glasses, and Clemont fired back that Bonnie should be Pidge, since she’s the youngest and shortest of the group, therefore it fits her best. Before they could argue too much, however, Manon pointed out that she was the only one who wanted to be Pidge, therefore it should go to her, and well, that’s an argument that’s kind of hard to argue against, so. She got to be Pidge.
Bonnie, happy with this, immediately laid dibs on Lance. Clemont was about to argue with her before he realized that her tendency to propose to people on behalf could be somewhat similar to Lance’s flirting, so. Lance it was. And that left him to be Hunk, he supposed, which was actually pretty cool since Hunk was the team mechanic, so he was happy with that, too.
Of course, it was quickly realized that this left them one Paladin short. They couldn’t form Voltron like this, and that---that was unacceptable. Alan tried pointing out that they weren’t actually going to form Voltron anyway, since they didn’t have any robot lions, but he could barely point this out before Manon decided that of course, Professor Sycamore could be Shiro, it was perfect!! She and Bonnie ran off to get him while Alan sighed.
“If the Professor is going, does this mean I don’t have to babysit anymore?” he asked.
“I’m pretty sure Bonnie and Manon will freak out if you leave us one Paladin short again,” Clemont said, and he smiled sheepishly.
So that was how it happened that Professor Sycamore, Alan, Manon, Bonnie, and Clemont all went out to celebrate the Halloween night as five Paladins of Voltron. Clemont did suggest that Meyer could dress up as Coran to join them (“Or Princess Allura, that’s fine, too!” Manon said), but he vaguely said he had somewhere else to be that night, and Bonnie bluntly said, “Yeah, and every day is Halloween for Papa anyway, since he’s Blaziken Mask.” There really wasn’t much arguing Meyer could do against that, even as Professor Sycamore and Alan both tried to hide their laughter.
But anyway. That is how this particular family spent this particular Halloween, and that is where this icon comes from.
