About Junk Giants
Junk Giants are an evolutionary offshoot of humankind, well equipped to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Opposite of borrowers, who survive by needing little, staying hidden, and avoiding the dangers of the world, Junk Giants are large and in charge, and strongly attached to the world everyone else seems to have abandoned.
The giants of the junkverse are several times larger than humans in proportion. To survive the harsh world below, Junk Giants developed adaptations to extract nutrition from just about anything. Allowing them to cultivate and eat any variety of groundworld crops and animals without worry โ the same types of sustenance that might be toxic to other humanoid species. There is nothing they are unable to consume if the need arises, but they rarely need to put their survival edge into action in modern times.
In the beginning, Junk Giants were very savage and known to destroy and consume anything to survive. They were named "Junk Giants" because of their tendency to appear as massive, ravenous junk beasts armored in scrap metal in days of old. It gained them a nasty reputation that persists generations after they have become even more civil than human beings. Modern Junk Giants are slow moving, patient, and tend to be friendly and generous. Farming is a profession of choice, as the giants can cultivate the once barren land to issue forth a surplus of crops. They take care of themselves very well and are rarely in need of outside help. With smaller species usually fearing them, they tend to remain reclusive. Living in isolation or in small colonies and taking care of those close to them. Youโll never regret having a Junk Giant as a friend, if you can handle their overbearing size and strength.
