cool transformer design ideas: maybe possibly not having starscream, thundercracker, and skywarp be of the same frame type?

first note: i’ve always associated thundercracker with the barn owl, starscream with the peregrine falcon, and skywarp with the magpie

second note: the Trine, as I’ve always seen it, is primarily a military unit for Seekers, though the functionality of the relationship may or may not bleed into their everyday culture as well. it would make sense for a unit like that, one built around the strengths of three separate individuals, to call for those individuals to have separate strengths, things that could play well off of one another

proposal: thundercracker as a big, hulking bruiser, intimidating and strong (think dreadwing and skyquake from tfp). skywarp small but agile and smart as a whip, if unbearably mischievous at times. starscream’s the midpoint between the two; lithe of frame but not necessarily small, fast and cunning and what ultimately ties the whole thing together.

skywarp is griffin, starscream is justin, thundercracker is travis

[whispers] I just want a continuity where Starscream and his trine are still together and maybe they aren't happy (it's hard to be happy in a war) but they care for each other and are sticking together to the end
