okay so i have talked about most of the women of nivium so far, and i've talked a little bit about one of them men (roy), but now let's talk about the other two main men.

i'll start with ryan. ryan is natasha's cousin and is usually the recipient of the brunt of her insults. he's 19 years old and the youngest of the group until agatha and then eventually faye come along, so that combined with natasha's ridicule of him makes him determined to prove his worth. he knows a thing or two about medicine from his parents, so that's mainly what he tries to prove himself best in. his weapon of choice is a crowbar, which isn't very good against guns, but he's got a good swing anyway.

he's a very friendly and kind person who likes to joke around a lot. basically he's a doormat who is trying to undo his doormatty reputation.

a brief roy bio

okay i've held off on making a bio for pinky because they are difficult to write a bio for but i figure i should do pinky before doing any of the minor/yet-to-be-introduced-in-canon characters SO here we go.

pinky is a giant squid with the intelligence of a human. they can't write or speak, but they understand english and have been capable of communicating with agatha for years now. their tentacles are extendable and they have a multitude of eyes for some unknown reason. agatha chalks their 'mutations' up to the toxic waste that was dumped into some parts of the ocean during the war, just as most people tend to assume.

they're pretty damn sassy and often like to tease and poke fun at agatha. they take good care of her while they travel together out at sea, and agatha tries her best to take care of them, too, since they often get injured by people from belwood and elsewhere. still, they are usually the one who has to bail agatha out of a bad situation.

fun facts:

pinky was named by an eight year old agatha due to their color

they're gender neutral because agatha tried to ask them if they were a 'girl or boy squid' and they simply chose not to answer, so agatha decided to leave it at 'they.' later on in the story, the pronoun is corrected to 've,' which is a pronoun used to address all intelligent creatures of other species.

pinky typically pops their tentacles once for yes, twice for no.

another daily post! today i'll talk about penny.

penny is natasha's closest friend. they met at a performing arts' school where natasha was studying to become a dancer and penny was going to become an actress. she's a very talkative person, especially around new people or just anyone in general who makes her feel nervous, but even so she has a very level head and often is the one who calms natasha down when she gets upset. with that being said, she also has a bad habit of keeping things bottled up--and she's pretty damn good at hiding things, so natasha worries about her a lot.

fun facts:

she has a prosthetic leg; she lost the real one in an explosion

she's white

she has very curly brown hair

she wears glasses. fortunately for her, they're not too bad.

she doesn't tan, she gets freckles.

she almost had the opportunity to do a voice actress role, but the war fucked that up big time.

she used to have a dog.

saturday update part ii: a little more about natasha

nat used to be more of a loner type because she thought it'd be easier to take care of herself and stay out of people's business, but she doesn't have that luxury anymore since she is stuck travelling with two people who are very close to her (best friend/LI penny and cousin ryan). she assumes responsibility for them because she thinks she's the most capable of it, which is stressful but she prefers it over letting some strangers order them around, hence why she gets angry when people try to usurp her.

time for another edition of zzzzzgod i'm tireed why did i promise to do a nivium post before bed goddzzzzzzzzzz

ok so

we've met agatha and roy and sheila and kinda natasha, now let's talk about june

june is agatha's older, more responsible sister who is kind of a foil to agatha. she is part of belwood security so she is well-liked by the town, well-respected, well-mannered, etc. i mean hell she even has a better glasses prescription. she also happens to be the one who comes down hardest on agatha, because she wants agatha to be happy and thinks that the best way to be happy in belwood is to follow the rules and just let things be peaceful. their dynamic used to be sort of the opposite; agatha was the one who was clingy toward june, whereas june thought agatha was a pest, but that all changed after the war of course.

there is a lot of fucking shit i made june go through tbh lol like in retrospect i feel terrible for making her go through all this crap. i won't go into detail about it because i think that's best saved for the novel but one thing that isn't mentioned often is that june is a breast cancer survivor. she tries not to let it bother her but there are definitely times where she feels self-conscious about it.

she is usually in her all-black uniform and has her hair up in a bun.

today i'm gonna make a post about agatha. you can read details about her here but right now i'm just going to summarize.

theeeeeeeeeeeeeere's actually nothing that special about agatha lol, you could summarize her in a few bullet points

she has sight problems so people tend to think she's dumb, which makes her not try very hard in school

she questions authority constantly because of their negative views on sea life post-war vs her actual firsthand knowledge WITH actual sea creatures

she has no friends aside from pinky

she has a bad rep, and she's stubborn and prideful so that just makes it worse

she is easily excited by the thought of exploration and adventure and seeing new things, which is why her town bores her

and so those are the basics of her character. if you have any questions, feel free to ask

While I was writing this, I was trying to figure out why it was so difficult to answer questions as Agatha, but then I realized it's because she has never had a friendly conversation with someone before. Kind of a sad realization for me, actually.
