What if in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team’s story, the human-turned-pokemon hero’s partner is Gengar (who never created Team Meanies) and the hero slowly turns Gengar into a better person…
*The name of their team is Team Spirit...
*Gengar is technically the leader, but the Hero usually doesn’t listen to Gengar when he’s being selfish and greedy about the rewards...
*When they first meet each other and Butterfree asks for them to rescue Caterpie, Gengar refused at first because he thought the reward wasn’t enough, but the Hero decided to save Caterpie without a reward...
*Gengar was confused about the Hero’s ‘stupidity’ (compassion)... and so he followed him/her throughout the forest out of curiosity and eventually decided to help the Hero...
*Like in canon, Gengar was the selfish human whose Gardevoir accidentally got cursed by Ninetails...
*The human died turned into a Gengar, so he could save the world and redeem himself...
*However Gengar was still super selfish before he met the Hero, so the Hero became a pokemon to take his place as the world’s savior...
*Eventually, the Hero’s compassion and courage were slowly inspiring Gengar to be a better person, a true rescuer and be more grateful as well...
*Unfortunately, Medecham (whose Team Meanies’ leader in this story) tells everyone in Pokemon Square that Gengar is the cursed/transformed human that’s destroying the world with his existence, so they have to destroy him first...
*Medecham then tells a lie, by saying that the Hero is also a human that was sent to destroy Gengar and the Hero is a traitor for not ending Gengar’s life...
*Gengar is shocked and touched by the Hero’s loyalty towards him...
*When Gengar and the Hero reach Ninetails, it was revealed to them that Gengar’s existence isn’t destorying the world... Ninetails tells them that Gengar was originally meant to save the world to redeem himself, but the Hero has taken his place...
*After they were both no longer being chased by everyone, Gengar decided to make the Hero the new leader of Team Spirit to show his gratitude...
*Later, when the Hero and Gengar convinced Rayquaza to destroy the comet to save the world, the Hero dies... but Gengar somehow brought the Hero back to life...
*Only for Gengar to lose the Hero again when a golden orb came to take the Hero back to the human world (because the Hero was still alive when they changed into a Pokemon)...
*But the Hero decided to come back to help Gengar free Gardevoir from the Ninetails curse...
*And after that, the Hero decides to stay in the Pokemon World with Gengar and Gardevoir...
