Charge reduced, Norwalk woman gets no jail for killing Stamford pedestrian
STAMFORD — A Norwalk woman whose trial for striking and killing woman while crossing the street in downtown Stamford in 2014 ended with a hung jury, has been allowed to participate in a program for first-time offenders that will expunge a reckless driving charge against her. With the jury’s inability to come to a unanimous decision, Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Mitchell Rubin decided against taking the case to trial again and agreed to reduce the negligent homicide to a reckless driving charge so she could participate in the Accelerated Rehabilitation program.
