Catfish
Okay so I've been sporadically watching that show Catfish. No, that's a lie I've only missed one episode. Okay, basically it's one of those shows that I underestimated ended watching the first episode and now think 'hmm nothing else is on? Eh, I'll watch this'. ANYWHO, last night's episode happened to be about a woman from Atlanta named Jasmine who had met a man named Mike through Facebook. To make a long story short, this girl Mhissy (yes, spelled like that) was the one behind the fake page. She felt absolutely no remorse for what she did and was glad she was able to finally come clean. This is where I started to roll my eyes. Jasmine wanted to 'beat her ass' while Mhissy was just enjoying the whole ordeal. All of this came about because they were both seeing the same guy and Mhissy wanted Jasmine to lost interest in Josh aka Triggs. There are so many things wrong with that.
Why the fuck are they arguing over a dude nicknamed Triggs. That already tells me more than enough about him and his lifestyle with the nickname and the girls he likes to play.
Why is it the other woman's fault because they are messing with the same man? Clearly, they did not know about each other and if what Mhissy said was true about Jasmine continuing to text him, why did she continue seeing him?
What is up with girls thinking because he stays with you, drives your car around, and has sex with you that he is 'your man'? I really hate the term 'my man'. It sounds so ghetto I can't even deal. But that's another blog/rant.
Why did Mhissy drag this out for 2 years? Did she not have nothing better to do?
Another thing: That area they met in was hood as hell. You know this because people started coming out of their house to watch. I hate that shit. Don't be the one looking extra nosey and thirsty for information. I hate that as much as people who slow down on the highway when they see an accidents and it ends up just being a car with a flat tire that ends up backing traffic up for 10 minutes.
That wasn't my biggest issue with tonight's episode. My issue was the amount of attention it got. ESPECIALLY from black people. They were calling Mhissy crazy and making memes about her. Honestly, I don't see what the extra deal was. I looked at it trending on twitter and majority of the people who were talking about it were black. They were sending her fake event bookings, tweeting at her, calling her crazy, etc etc etc and it made me wonder why is this any worse than the first episode when another female made a fake male account and pretended she was a guy for X amount of time just for the fun of it and made someone fall in love with them. Honestly, I would think THAT is what you call crazy. As stupid as Mhissy's reason was she had a reason. The girl from the first episode did not and that is what should have gotten so much attention.
I feel like black people are always so quick to put down their own kind. It's ridiculous to me. All these girls who are claiming she is crazy and has too much time on her hands will be the same one facebook stalking someone for lord knows how long or dealing with men doing the same things as this Triggs. There is absolutely nothing right about what Mhissy did but it really was not that serious in my opinion. People always want someone to bash and put down and I'm so tired of seeing it. I'm really tired of seeing people getting bullied on social networks. I understand it's a show and we live in a digital age but it's ridiculous. Even worse is the grown as comedian or whatever he is making jokes and sending her booking info. Charlamagne is way to freakin old to be behaving like that. Grow up. I swear he must be in his early 30's late 20's and this girl is 18. You are too damn old. I can't.
