HENRY V Reading, this SATURDAY:
The Porters’ YEAR OF THE KING continues this Saturday night with our reading of HENRY V; arranged by Artistic Director Charles Pasternak, who will also be reading the title role. The event is Pay What You Can. We have wine, and will have a little gathering afterwards.
Come on out for a lovely evening of Shakespeare and good cheer.

Throwback Thursday: HENRY V (2014)
Having played the title role with Shakespeare Santa Cruz the year before, Artistic Director Charles Pasternak directed and starred in the Porters’ 2014 production. A truly bare-bones set was wonderfully excused in the Chorus’ opening (would we could open every play with that speech!) and a determined ensemble (which never left the stage) brought Shakespeare’s war epic to life. Though written later, HENRY V is of course the historical prequel to the HENRY VI trilogy, currently up and running! Tickets are HERE! The only roles that truly overlap HENRY V to HENRY VI are Exeter, and Henry’s two brothers: Bedford and Gloucester. Of the three of them, only Gloucester has survived the cut to appear in HENRY VI. Company member Michael Bigley played the role in V; new player Michael Matthys takes on the role in VI.
