Are you looking for a show with diversity, people who are strong and kind, and bada** lady aliens?
Well I have the show for you. Its bbc's Class. And its perfect. Out of the main characters (and Matteusz, becuase he's a main character the showrunners just don't know it yet) there are no straight white males. Which is kind hard to come by. Let me explain: Charlie- a (problematic) smol bean. I love this boi and yet I also want to punch him. Gayer than the air I breathe. Always confused. Also a prince. April- This girl. Is. Wonderful. Perfect example of a character who proves kind does not mean weak. 2nd strongest character in the whole show. Ram- This boi is my adoptive son. At first you see him and you're like 'great another annoying jock character.' And then..... you realize he's actually really soft and adorable and you want to protect him from a blood they put on his face. (There's so much blood on his face jeez.) Also is (kinda) handicapped and the show deals with that wonderfully in ep2. Sikh representation!!!! Miss Quill- my actual wife. Strongest character in the history of forever. Bada**. (Also kinda sorta Charlie's slave but like I'm confused and they deal with that so you'll see.) Loves cats. Matteusz- how to describe this lovely boy. The cutest bean I ever darn diddly did see. So in love with Charlie it hurts him and everyone watching. (Actually one of the smartest characters on the show.) Immigrant representation. I love him from the bottom of my heart to the top of it. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST--- Tanya- this lovely girl. She is a literal genius. I'm serious. She's fourteen. All her friends are 17. She's flawless. And she calls people ( *cough* Charlie *cough*) on their bull so...... i love her... sm.... This show also deals with - Being (kinda) handicapped(idk what else to call it sorry. Someone help me) -Fighting aliens who basically represent the patriarchy -Growing up sikh where lots of people are white and possibly racist -Parent(s) who suck - Parent(s) who don't suck - Being kicked out -Power couples -How to deal with panic attacks correctly (*cough* unlike that scene in teen wolf *cough*) -So much more!!! Just watch this show. Its on BBC america.com for americans and Bbc iplayer (I believe.) Just watch it. Its so good. Also if I don't get a season two I will actually die. Please let me live. -Liz
