Since the incident upon the train, Harriet had kept mostly to her apartment and the Ministry. When she went anywhere else, Charlie was always at her side. The interaction with Roderick had been weird, but she had no doubts about where his loyalty laid. She knew it was with Irene and she had no doubts that Irene knew about the pregnancy. While it seemed that Roderick might care about the babies, she knew that Irene would only care about the fact that Harriet had been unable to follow orders. That she had stopped attending the meetings. The fact of the matter was that they were in danger.
Still, she couldn’t say that it was all bad. Charlie had moved into her apartment slowly, but surely, and she enjoyed having him around. They’d learned the genders of the babies and while it had seemed real before, it got moreso with each day that passed. Harriet stood in the kitchen and cut up some vegetables for dinner when she felt the babies kick. “Charlie!” She yelled for her boyfriend, biting back a laugh when he appeared in the kitchen. She’d probably given him a heart attack. “Come here. Feel this,” she murmured, before taking his hands and placing them on her baby bump.
