She swivelled wide eyes towards him. “Which one do you like more?”
“That’s like asking me which one of the dragons are my favourite,” he teased.
If he thought she was going to shrug off the joke, he was mistaken. The corners of her lips curled upward before she replied. “But, you do have a favourite.”
She had him there.
Charlie cleared his throat, glanced away, still grinning, then met her eyes once more. “Get the apple pie tonight and the mucenici next time.”
Except, when their server came by to take last orders, Luna asked for both desserts. At his inquiring look, she smiled that same smile.
“One for you; one for me.”

During the Fairest of the Rare Love Fest 2020, Lunamionny made this gorgeous aesthetic for a Charlie x Luna drabble I wrote last year. I'm really glad that even though the fic was extremely PG-rated, she found it stimulating enough to put them in this type of situation. Charlie was confronted with the irritating fact that pure innocence was a little endearing and a lot maddening. He was never more aware of this than after spending the entire evening with Luna Lovegood.
She turned to him with a smile that he couldn’t help but return. Her voice was soft and songlike as she said, “I’m really glad I got to know you better, Charlie. It's really nice to have a big brother. Ginny’s so lucky to have so many who care for her.”
The unspoken meaning in her words indicated that she now considered him in a brotherly light. It flummoxed him. Had he, like some of his friends thought, been spending too much time on the reserve? Had he somehow lost his touch?
Like a brother. Like a brother. The words seemed to echo in his mind even as he watched her Portkey away the next day. She waved at him cheerily, with no sign that she had spent a restless night wondering if she had just been neutered in some way.
