Even the Devil Shines on the Everlasting Summer Beach

Effect Definitions:

Charm is a Status Ailment that will cause the afflicted target to be unable to take any actions (attacks or skills) for the number of turns shown. Charm chance can stack.

Dazzle is a Status Ailment that causes the afflicted target to have a 50% chance to miss their attacks, make the target take 80% more damage from its weak element, and prevent the target from recovering HP. Dazzle chance can stack.

TLDR: “Even the Devil Shines on the Everlasting Summer Beach” isn’t good and can be treated as Enhancement Fodder... Unless you want to annoy the enemy a lot. This memoria is exclusive to “Kamihama Beach Spa Adventure: The Demon’s Grudge Whirlpooling at the Beach” event gacha.

Review: A quick review of “Even the Devil Shines on the Everlasting Summer Beach” is that it’s not a good memoria. You’re not going to get much out of using it and you’re so much better off using anything else that gives you actual offensive capability and not a small chance of charming or dazzling the target.

But you know what? It might not be a good memoria to use, but it does have fun potential for shenanigans. 

Go pick a character that has passive Charm chance thanks to their Spirit Enhancement, then equip “Even the Devil Shines on the Everlasting Summer Beach” alongside one of the following memoria:

(4*) “That Light I Thought I Gave Up” Charm on Attack [20%] (1 Turn) & Attack Up [25%]

(3*) “Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels” Charm on Attack [20%] & Attack Up [10%]

(3*) “The Destination of Shizuku's Travel Is!?” Charm on Attack [15%] (1 Turn)

Congratulations, your character is going to hit for shit but they also have a hilariously high chance of inflicting Charm on every attack.

Note that you can do this with Dazzle as well, but there’s only one memoria in the game that can give a passive Dazzle chance and unfortunately it’s a limited one:

But hey, if you have it, go ahead and try that out as a strategy too.

Is this a strategy that will actually be useful...?

Probably not. You’re way better off swapping connects that give Charm or Dazzle instead of using this.

But is swapping connects as much fun as doing this? No. What’s the point of playing the game if you don’t do stupid stuff every once in a while?

That Light I Thought I Gave Up

Single Effect: Attack Up [20%] & Charm on Attack [15%] (1 Turn)

MLB Effect: Attack Up [25%] & Charm on Attack [20%] (1 Turn)

Effect Definitions:

Attack Up increases the equipped character’s base stats, meaning that its effected is calculated before buffs/debuffs are considered. The effect caps at 100%.

Charm is a Status Ailment that will cause the afflicted target to be unable to take any actions (attacks or skills) for the number of turns shown. Charm chance can stack.

TLDR: “That Light I Thought I Gave Up” has a very good Attack Up percentage and passive ATK stats, making it a great choice to use for an offensive memoria. The secondary effect, Charm, is mostly situational but isn’t too much of a problem. This is event memoria and should be kept in case of a rerun.

Review: Having 25% Attack Up on new passive memoria alongside some sort of Status Ailment (or Anti-Status Ailment) is the new fad for unlimited memoria. That doesn’t make “That Light I Thought I Gave Up” any less good though-- take a look at those delicious passive ATK stats (note that this only counts if you have the memoria Max Awakened and max leveled, of course). 2340 ATK is nothing to sneeze at!

So how does “That Light I Thought I Gave Up” stack up against other Attack Up memoria?

That’s a pretty long list! But overall, this memoria is pretty solid. Some of these memoria have a chance at giving more damage output thanks to their secondary effects, such as “The Grin of a Saint” or “To Grace with Aster--” however, the passive ATK stats on “That Light I Thought I Gave Up” give it a more reliable overall damage boost, even if its secondary effect (Charm) isn’t that beneficial offensively.

The Charm chance comes with its own benefits and weaknesses. First though, there aren’t that many Charm passive memoria in the game:

Looking at this for comparison’s sake, it’s clear that “That Light I Thought I Gave Up” is a Four-Star version of the Three-Star memoria “Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels.” The Three-Star memoria will be more accessible for Free-to-Play players who just want that Charm chance (it’s easier to Max Awaken a Three-Star memoria than a Four-Star one, after all), but “That Light I Thought I Gave Up” is better overall.

Unfortunately, Charm is a tier one Status Ailment, meaning it can only do one thing-- stun the enemy. It doesn’t stop the enemy from gaining HP, and it also doesn’t increase the amount of damage the opposite element can deal against it, like Bind or Dazzle could.

But, that doesn’t mean Charm is completely useless. It’s not reliable at 20%-- most of the time, you’ll probably see it take effect on an enemy you would have killed. But it can be helpful on bosses where you expect to take a while to kill. You can also increase the chance of Charm proccing by using this memoria on a character with Charm Chance on their Spirit Enhancement, or alongside another passive Charm memoria.

Overall, “That Light I Thought I Gave Up” is another addition to the increasingly large list of 25% Attack Up passive memoria. Its secondary effect in Charm isn’t the best effect it could have, but it’s certainly not terrible either. This is a good offensive memoria thanks to its effect and stats, and will be useful on Support.

Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels

Single Effect: Attack Up [5%] & Charm on Attack [15%]

MLB Effect: Attack Up [10%] & Charm on Attack [20%]

Effect Definitions:

Attack Up will increase the equipped character’s base stats, meaning that its effected is calculated before buffs/debuffs are considered. It’s generally considered superior to Damage Up/Damage Inflicted Up, however, because there are so many sources of Attack Up in the game it can be easy to hit the cap of 100%.

Charm is a Status Ailment that will cause the afflicted target to be unable to take any actions (attacks or skills) for the number of turns shown. It is considered weaker than Stun or Bind as it doesn’t increase the damage done by the afflicted target’s weak element, and it doesn’t prevent HP Regen by the afflicted target. As a Status Ailment, Charm will negate Evade and can be used in combination with the effect “Damage Up Versus Enemies Affected With Status Ailments.” Charm chance can stack.

TLDR: “Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels” is Free-to-Play friendly. It doesn’t offer the most Attack Up but it can work in a pinch, and the Charm can range from useless to incredible. Eventually you’ll want to replace it.

Review: “Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels” can be surprisingly decent for a new account. It won’t be great forever-- Attack Up at 10% isn’t amazing, but the Charm chance on Attack can stack along side Charm passive Spirit Enhancement, and overall it can be good for newer players.

One thing to note is that the chance to Charm on attack is a bit low at 20% (when max awakened) and not entirely reliable as you can’t guarantee when it’ll go off. Most of the time, you’ll probably see it take effect on an enemy you would have killed. But it can be helpful on bosses where you expect to take a while to kill. You can increase the chance to Charm by utilizing the aforementioned Spirit Enhancement for certain characters (Mel, Rika, Jun, Mayu, Minou, Mikage, Kanoko) or by equipping the following memoria:

(3*) “The Destination of Shizuku's Travel Is!?” Charm on Attack [15%] (1 Turn)

Funny enough, “Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels” completely outclasses it in every single away-- despite only having one effect, the memoria has less Charm than “Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels” does with two effects. How does that work? Who knows.

Anyways, eventually you’ll have access to better and more reliable memoria. Most four-star memoria like “A Longing for the Beyond” will have 15% Attack Up as a single copy which is more than a maxed “Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels” will have to offer. But until then, feel free to use it as a Free-to-Play friendly memoria.

The Destination of Shizuku's Travel Is!?

Single Effect: Charm on Attack [10%] (1 Turn)

MLB Effect: Charm on Attack [15%] (1 Turn)

TLDR: This memoria is instant enhancement fodder.

Review: This memoria is not good. It has a somewhat lackluster effect at a low chance of occuring, along with being outclassed by another unlimited three-star memoria in the game. Additionally, at 15%, it’s very unlikely that this status ailment will go off when you need it (or often at all).

A quick summary of it’s effect: Charm is a status ailment that will cause the target to be unable to take any action (attack or skills) while it’s active. Of the “stun” variety of Status Ailments, it’s one of the weaker options as it doesn’t prevent the target from healing or cause the target to take increased damage from its weak element.

The unlimited three-star memoria “Holy Mother Surrounded by Angels” completely surpasses “The Destination of Shizuku's Travel Is” by having a higher Charm Chance and 10% Attack Up. This memoria is useless in comparison.

You can safely use this as enhancement fodder.
