I've started uploading a new Starter Squad fanfic! It follows the events of episode 11. I've carried over as much of the series as I can while adding a couple elements that were missing.

I have to come clean, I'm sorry. I don't think Charmander and Squirtle are a thing. I think they're basically entirely platonic.

The thing that's actually happening is they're just both actually girls everyone thinks are guys. They (including Bulbasaur) have the kind of inseparable bond that comes from being girls who don't know they're girls yet. They're showing affection how girls do, but people think it's romantic because of the (understandable) assumption they're both guys.

Now, obviously neither of them have the emotional intelligence to figure that out for themselves. It's definitely possible they would misunderstand their own feelings and try to date. It would not go well, but I could definitely see it happening. Squirtle would ruin things basically immediately, though. She still hasn't really figured out how to respect anyone who isn't herself yet.

Also it would be cute if she was afraid of her injections on account of nearly being stabbed to death twice, meaning Squirtle has to help her with it and teases her about it.
