✨ Enchanting Objects ✨
Enchanting is basically the combination of focused intention, connection, and time to create an object with a centered purpose. Here is my method of enchanting household objects that don’t have religious or specific ritual purposes.
Start with a specific goal/concept (protection, healing, energizing, etc) in mind. Connect with the object physically (either by holding it in your hands or even wearing it as normal) and focus on that intention- push it into the object. If you cannot visualize- that’s okay! You can do tactilely (rub or kiss the object!), play music, place pictures on the object that you associate with the goal (sigils, or even pictures of things like fire, armor, healing herbs, hearts, hugs, etc.), you can even use scents with oils and incense!
The more intensely and longer you visualize or methodize with the intention, the more powerful it will be.
You can use sigils, herbs, stones that correspond to your intention to help with the focus but they aren’t required. Especially with textiles you could stitch in sigils or herb packets to help enchant if you’d like!
Take the time to really fill the object with this intention. You can also visualize a reaction it’s suppose to have if your enchantment works like that (I have a ring that sends out energy spikes if I’m attacked). Or use a tactile example like striking, hugging, pushing, etc.
Just like filling a glass versus a pitcher with water, the larger the object the longer the enchanting takes. This should be an enjoyable focused time. Akin to meditation, don’t try to do this when you’re stressed or upset or can’t have the level of privacy you need.
Once you’re finished, I recommend giving the object some grounding time to acclimate while you ground and center as well!
