“R” is for Raven for #charsartclass with #birdsindecember2022 I painted this bird with mostly only a palette knife and a small brush towards the end for finer details. This way I could concentrate on values and building form. I love the mark-making and texture you can get with a palette knife..so freeing and so much faster to paint! I painted this in under an hour! 🤩😎 I also loved the way my palette looked when I was done so I took another piece of paper and pressed the palette onto it, moving it around a couple of times and love the result!
