French cuisine is some of the most famous in the world but I don't recall ever visiting a typical french restaurant at all before this week. For Lauren's 22nd on birthday on Wednesday we all went to Chartiers (see http://www.restaurant-chartier.com/), a place that prides itself on tradition - from the dishes down to the waiter's old fashioned typical dress. It was not too pricey for what you got but from the main's on offer I only really recognised 'steak hache' and 'poulet' much beyond that Courtenay described another dish as 'some meaty veiny thing with loads of blood' and went on to order snails for herself (which yes I am still too wary about to try).
All was great and we followed the meal in the kebab shop across the road (classy filles that we are) to meet Bronte and eat the birthday cake she'd made! Everyone else finished the night in Queen on the Champs Elysee but after my last experience there, it's too soon to be going back on a week night!
Friday I had to babysit, which I wasn't going to complain about as it's what like the 2nd time I've ever had to do it officially and when they came back I went to Thomas'.
Saturday I met Alex for a quick drink at Hotel de Ville, after watching her friends zoom round on ice skates and deciding we were not capable and then headed to Courtenay's - with a batch of my famous brownies made in her honour (better than anything french cuisine has to offer) - for her last big night out.
so much food!
The person we actually came to say goodbye to!! (Courtenay's FREAKY 'Big Doll' with one arm and the odd eyelash, deserves all the terrorising she gets - hence the sweet down her top)
We went to Showcase on guestlist, all dressed up - my first and hopefully last night out in heels in Paris, and danced about literally until we were the last people in there, pretending this wasn't our last night with her before finishing off the weekend on Sunday - hungover and at the cinema.
