UM Track By Track : : Heartless Breakers -‘Lighter Doses’
Artist Of The Week, Heartlesss Breakers is a Rock band from Salt Lake City, which features Matt Mascarenas (ex-Daytrader). The band released their EP ‘Lighter Doses’ today. Chase Griffs was kind enough to write a Track-By-Track of the album for UMusicians. Read the Track-By-Track below!
Distractions
Have you ever had those nights where you’re bored, broke and the only part of your body that moves is your brain? The nights where everything’s beyond your circle of influence. That night, Bryan and Matt were jamming/recording some acoustic tracks before I came over. We sat down for a few minutes, and this turned into a short song that fit the vibes from that night perfectly.
Morals & Motive
There’s nothing worse than seeing someone you love not utilize the potential you see in them. You’d be surprised what some people put off trying to bump up their social statuses. I may be guilty of not setting my priorities straight, but hell, I really don’t have as much to lose as other people.
Daily Restraint
Getting comfortable (for lack of a better term) is easy, too easy. At times life seems to be consisted only of failed relationships, collection notices and hours under florescent lighting. While I complain about the routine shackled life, I find myself not doing too much to break out of it. Whether or it’s your choice or not, it’s always going to come to a point where you’re going to have to change it.

Burn and Bury
Allow your mind naturally take you where it wants to go. Don’t do anything dumb, because you’ll soon realize the new person you have become.
Monologue
If you know something doesn’t feel right, and you continue to lie to yourself and try to prove yourself otherwise, you’re probably not going to end up very happy. Instinct is a very powerful and dangerous feeling where you have to realize that the truth is actually what you’re feeling, in retrospect. Utilize this sense we were all both with wisely, because it can backfire in your face as fast as the dumb decisions you can potentially make with it.
Bitter Melodies

Life would be too easy if we didn’t have to give up the things we love in order to do able to do what we love. Setting the bar too high can lead be a little intimidating, but I can’t help to embrace that feeling; it gives me the thought that I’m doing something right, and it’s how I learn. Is anything possible? Sure. Is it doing that “anything” possibly going to be really fucking hard to achieve? Definitely. The last thing anyone wants is a case of the “shoulda, coulda, woulda’s”, so I’m going to make the jump and so should you.
