They're best friends now, that's just how it is. Strong thigh buddies got stuck together. Maybe they can put a watermelon between them and crush it with the force of A THOUSAND EARTHQUAKES. Or something. Anyway, hi, you're ad 8] ----- @chasiingrain
sorry reno, you just got replaced with jessie. catch them crushing watermelons together. they’re the power couple now.
( @chasiingrain )
He heard the rumors circulating the building -- one of the AVALANCHE insurgents had been found miraculously alive amidst the rubble of Sector 7′s collapse. A girl, young, wounded but strong enough to be sedated; she’d tried to run when they came for her, but she’d been outnumbered and brought into custody, held in the infirmary just a few floors away.
Reeve hadn’t thought much of it at first -- his mind was decidedly elsewhere, an entire section of the city he’d planned and helped construct gone, rubble, littered with the dead that he could not save no matter how earnestly he’d begged. He felt as if the weight of those gnarled and mangled beams and bodies rest on his shoulders, in spite of the fact that he had no hand in tearing it asunder.
But whisperings a little closer to his ear brought news of a nature to wrest his attention away from his deep, pensive guilt -- troubling news. ‘Rasberry,’ they’d said. Uttering’s of ‘Rowan’s daughter; and ‘such a shame,’ and ‘if her father only knew...’ The hair on the back of the commissioner’s neck prickled, getting a sinking sense of foreboding as he glanced up from the damage reports left on his desk, considering for a moment before scooting his chair out and snatching his jacket off the coat hook near his office door.
He swiped his key card over the reader by the elevator, waited for the pad to flash green and the doors to open before selecting the floor housing the infirmary wing and letting the lift do the rest. He glanced back over his shoulder at the open glass wall looking out over the city, the haze of smoke and debris blanketing much of the plate like a thick, ominous fog even after the fires had been extinguished; the embers would smolder for months to come, he was sure.
A soft chime alerted him to his arrival, stepping off and making his way through the halls to the check-in desk. He’d asked the girl’s room, offered his credentials (which thankfully bought him much favor with their access levels), and set off in search of a hunch that he hoped was not true.
Alas, his hopes would be dashed before long, finding the room empty save for an armored SOLDIER at the door and one Jessie Rasberry cuffed to the hospital bed looking as if she’d just crawled from the pits of burning hell.
His heart sank to see the young woman, once so vibrant and full of potential stretched out like a martyr for a lost cause on Shin-Ra turf. Surely her father hadn’t known of his daughter’s anarchical leanings -- perhaps his illness had been the very reason. Reeve stepped in quietly, draping his jacket over the arm of a chair and pulling up a seat at her bedside, sitting and resting his elbows on his knees.
Would she wake? And where would he fall on the list of people he felt certain she would not wish to see gazing down at her?
she would certainly take the opportunity of friendship when it reared itself proper.
the delicacies of court were not anything strange to aerith, but perhaps what she missed the most sorely about home was the ability to let loose her corset and breathe - so to speak. every interaction within midgar had been measured with a spoonful of politesse ------it was exhausting constantly stepping on eggshells on the tips of her toes, careful not to crack their delicate and brittle carapace. but an unexpected friendship seemed to blossom itself quite suddenly, thrusting petals into full openness and aerith couldn’t bring herself to complain even if she’d wanted to.
two moons before she’d stopped to watch the actress on stage, was immediately taken with her charm and spunk - her dedication to her role. perhaps she’d thrown her title around too sternly, insisted on greeting the woman and providing more personal praise for her prowess. the connection was instant, or maybe aerith was desperate for someone to understand her in a way she could play more girlish than queenly.
so now she sat, shoulder-to-shoulder with the beautiful actress in the royal gardens, knights posted here and there and the bustle of castle life around them. a pot of fresh-brewed tea spewed plumes of steam from its spout between them, resting on the iron wrought table with its curling ivy designs. aerith ignored it for now, instead focusing on the company of her friend - a title she was proud to place on the brunette beside her. “ i’m still learning all of the faces and names here. but the night before last we entertained a minor lord from some city west of here? he was roguishly handsome, had a long scar down the left side of his face, just above his eye. do you know the one? ”
fingers plucked at one of the sugared cookies on the tray beside the teapot, a small bite claimed into her mouth and aerith relished the sweetness at it hit her tongue. she continued when she swallowed, “ i got the feeling he was more surly than he let on, but he wore his doublet well, if not a touch too tight. ”

Anonymous asked: Who are some of your favorite people on your dash every day and why?
‘Ello, nonnie.
Pretty much everyone I follow can be counted as a “favourite person” but I’ll tag all the people whose chats I have up on the side of my screen because otherwise this post will end up longer than my combat analysis (I know, I know, I haven’t posted it yet and it’s been months).
I may have wrongly assumed some pronouns here so please let me know and I will fix them asap. 💙
Pick a URL you haven't talked about yet and talk about them!
send me a url and I’ll write some positivity for it . accepting
Ohhh you’re a clever one, Light! :) For this one then I’ll pick Jae Jae because we cannot have someone sending in someone’s URL and not having good things said about them because... That’s the ultimate selfless act on tumblr, right?
And Jae Jae is so cool? I think my favorite thing about them is that they write Cissnei to perfection (and the reason I can’t wait to see her in the remake after these gorgeous shots, yes please give me more Turks!) and Zwei is such a great character? Like, being an OC writer myself, I love anyone who will pick up an original muse and infuse them with personality, like our favorite accountant! Who doesn’t love him? Who isn’t charmed by this guy?
Plus, Jae Jae is literally the sweetest thing to talk to and has given me these pre-existing bonds that I crave? With Cissnei in the medieval AU or now with Zwei, I just love when we can connect muses and establish something that deviates from the first meeting interactions and stuff - and I don’t think this flies if there’s not a good deal of plotting and comfort ooc, so kudos to Jae Jae for being the sweetest welcoming bean they are!
So yeah, Jae Jae is amazing and I will always be excited for anything they do, be it Turk reports on fellow colleagues (I still fucking live for that one) or Zwei breaking into places through windows because apparently that’s a thing for my muse now. :)
positivity for: @kalmaccountant
‘Come to the Royal Gardens, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Just go with the flow, and follow your heart- Yours sincerely, Reeve’
The note left by his oathsworn brother definitely took the proud knight by surprise. Whatever could he mean by ‘follow your heart’? It was not something that was thrown lightly between the two, but the silver haired male trusted his elder’s words and made his way to the Royal Gardens.
It was always such an enlightening time when among the many orchids and luscious flowers that the location had on offer. The scent was an intense sweetness that Sephiroth could never truly describe and was a safe reprieve from the chaos that was involved with the execution of his knightly duties. But there was no sign of any surprise that was mentioned by Reeve in the small letter, perhaps this was a mere prank? Or another one of those immaterial tests he always put the Knight through. Picking up one of the roses on display, a trivial chuckle left him until he turned the corner of the green maze to the center of the garden...
The sight that greeted the Warrior altered his lax expression, shifting from a natural, small smile to his lips parting slightly. His eyes had widened, and before he could even realise that his vulnerabilities were now on display, his heartbeat quickened. This was a feeling likening to that wiith a duel between another knight, but the person before him was no knight at all. No, not even a danger. It was Her. The Actress. The woman that had stirred a passion that he never even thought he could perceive.
So this was Reeve’s surprise... Typical.
Still holding the rose in his hand, Sephiroth approached the woman slowly, mind racing as he thought of what he could possibly say to the beautiful woman that he had now found himself in the company of. ‘That devilish bastard... I’m going to kill him...’ Thought the famed war general, with each passing step hitting his chest harder and harder until his tall and towering form came to a stop in front of her. What should he say? What manner of affectionate words could he use for this? Would Jessie even indulge him in this situation?
With a soft intake and release of breath, he finally spoke. “My greetings, m’lady... We met the night after your performance, it is quite a stupendous occasion to see you here. I’ve still been reeling from your oustanding performance just a few nights ago.” He bows slightly, showing his respect to the woman while also holding out the gentle rose before her.

@chasiingrain and I plotted this out~
The Federal Bureau of Control, huh?
Carmine eyes scanned the exterior of the building she stood in front of, head tilting back as she allowed her gaze to take in all she could. It didn’t look like anything out of the ordinary--well, if one ignored the absence of people filtering in and out of the doors like they were for every other office complex on the street. As she returned her attention to the stairs leading up to the building, Tifa found herself noticing something else; no one was even looking at the building. It was as if it wasn’t even there to anyone but her. That wasn’t what she was seeing, was it?
...something in the back of her mind told her the truth in the measured, masculine voice that led her there in the first place.
‘This is where you can find me.’
Alan.
All the more he was in her mind was a voice and a name. Nothing else rose to the surface of her memory no matter how deeply she plunged into it. No face, no concrete memories... just the impulse to find him. That impulse was what led her forward, up the stairs and to one of the sets of glass double doors that lined the lobby. As her hand wrapped around the metal handle, she found herself hesitating as the feeling that it wasn’t just the answers she sought that lay beyond--that there were truths within that would indelibly change her forever. A deep breath... and she opened it, unknowingly stepping into the Oldest House.
