Just my opinion but I do think Niall's vocals really shined once Zayn left and they had to tour as a four piece and split up his parts--I saw them twice on OTRA and I was seriously impressed by what Niall brought to the performances I saw as well as videos from other shows. Not the same type of voice as Zayn's, but I liked how he made the lines his own while still fitting in to how those lines functioned i the songs when Zayn sang them, if that makes sense

oh, no, that definitely makes sense!! i think niall brings that same quality to the covers he performs now. he’s loyal to the source material without mimicking it exactly, and not without making it his own. it’s a really admirable kind of versatility, i think! omg, congrats on seeing them twice, though!! i’d be so, so interested to hear a live show true to how it really was. i think part of the trouble i’m having articulating myself?? is that i keep thinking about how much i love niall in ‘fireproof,’ but how edited his voice sounded to me last time i listened to that song, and 1d’s albums in general.

it seems like live is where he’s at his best, and i just have never had the patience to listen to fanvids. that said, i totally remember watching otra shows through fans’ vines (rip) and even then, feeling conscious of how much he’d grown!! short of his solos in songs like ‘fool’s gold’ and ‘wdbhg,’ if we’re being really, brutally honest, i don’t think any 1d song put niall at the forefront enough to be a good demonstration of his ability. so it’d make sense if he was taking more parts, especially the big parts zayn used to have, that he’d really shine! but y’know, short of that, i find it really difficult to look back at 1d stuff where it seems niall most adapting himself to the song to find many good examples of the songs suiting him well, if that makes sense?

I loved the new chapter!!! I live for long fics so the fact that each chapter is like 20k is amaaaazing. Harry and Louis sleeping in the same bed killed me!!!! Like, what a great way to advance the intimacy of their relationship. And I loved that they’re learning more about each other’s lives before meeting. Can’t wait for them to share their relationship with Alex!!!

And I’m happy you liked the development of Harry and Louis’s individual relationship, and are looking forward to their involvement in a poly relationship with Alex, since obviously I want that to be a big focus on this chapter.
