This weeks guest on Five Questions is none other than ring announcer Chasity Taylor. I met Chasity through our friends at CWF Mid-Atlantic and instantly took a liking to her after realising we were both the same age and had been in and around independent wrestling our entire lives. Chasity and I talk about Starrcade 87, growing up in the North Carolina independent wrestling scene, working outside of North Carolina, and whats in store for her future in wrestling.
Mike: Chasity, thanks for doing Five Questions with us. My first question for you is how did you first become a fan of pro wrestling?
Chasity: Uhh. let's see.. my first memory of wrestling was watching Starrcade 87 on VHS with my dad in probably like 1999 or 2000. I was immediately hooked on the Rock N Roll Express
Mike: Awesome, I'm actually a really big fan of that show. So you were like 5 or 6 when you first started right? How did you get into independent wrestling?
Chasity: I moved in with my dad fully around 2004 or 2005 and all we really had in common at the time was...wrestling. We would go every single weekend to whatever indy promotions we could find near us. We drove all over North Carolina watching shows. Eventually, I became a regular at a local promotion and they got to know me and realized just how passionate I was about wrestling and how badly I wanted to be a wrestler.. they offered me a job as a ring announcer. I was twelve.
Mike: I actually had no idea you started announcing that young. Obviously from being all over the North Carolina indie scene, you eventually found your way to CWF Mid-Atlantic. How did you end up there?
Chasity: Well, the promotion I began with was really crappy..to say the least. The promoter was a total sleezeball and he was really exploiting me. The company I was with was actually competing with CWF at the time, though it wasn't really a competition. My dad and I finally got tired of the crap, and we wanted to start our own promotion. Something fun, and somewhere I could really showcase my abilities. We went to Jeff Rudd with CWF to ask his blessing to use some of his guys, because we knew they were the best of the best. After that, my dad's company, TCW, and CWF were like sister companies and the rest is history!
Mike: Amazing. Since working for CWF Mid-Atlantic, you've done ring announcing for other independents on the east coast such as SHINE and PWS. What do you like or dislike about working outside of North Carolina and your home promotions?
Chasity: Oh man, I've learned that I am really fortunate to have "grown up' in front of the NC crowd. They literally have watched me grow up. So, in there eyes, I don't really do any "wrong." For example, I fall in the ring because I suck at walking in heels. I stumble on my words, I mix up introductions... no one seems to care. I love it! But then I go elsewhere, and realize those people DON"T know who I am, nor do they care.. so if I mess up.. it's soooo much worse.
Mike: I could definitely see how nerves could come into play when working in front of a crowd that you don't know. That being said though, are there any independent promotions out there that you would like to work for that you haven't had the opportunity to yet?
Chasity: Oh gosh. I want to go everywhere. Like, I want to work for at least one promotion in every state eventually. I've got Jersey, New York, NC, Florida, Illinois, so far.. LOL I've got a lot more to go.
Mike: I like that goal, I have the same one for states I've seen wrestling in. Well Chasity, I wanna thank you a lot for joining us on Five Questions. It was a pleasure meeting you in North Carolina and hopefully I'll be seeing you real soon.

Got to meet the lovely @chasityann tonight. She’s a doll and a half. She’s not just a pretty face either, one heck of a ring announcer. One of the many great people I met this weekend.
