Aiden’s agent had phoned him approximately an hour ago to let him know that the pilot he’d shot a few months back had been picked up by a network. The excitement that had electrified throughout his veins had made him almost perform cartwheels in the front room of the gallery art show he’d attended for a friend. Now he was at one of the hottest downtown bars with a few friends and three beers deep. This was a special day and he hoped the first of many. Katherine, one of his broadway buddies was sitting next time chatting about the blockbuster film she’d just landed and all Aiden could do was grin. This was probably the moment that all actors waited for, the moment they felt like they were on top of the world, that they were untouchable. Yep, this was his moment for sure.
Picking up his beer, he took a long swing and leaned back...not necessarily checked out of Katherine’s story but not necessarily checked in either. Then he saw her, dark hair up, huge bright smile on those gorgeous lips and his breath left his body. Who was that? His gaze was stuck like glue. Though people claimed New York was made up of numerous unknown faces, it actually wasn’t. New York was where everyone knew everyone else and Aiden had never seen her before. Deciding that today was his lucky day he turned to Katherine and excused himself, giving her a warm smile so she didn’t take it personally before sauntering over to the beautiful woman chatting at the bar. He had to know who the hell she was. “Hey!” he called out to the bartender as he found an empty space at her back. “Jack on the rocks!” It was a strategy, one he hoped would work. “And another one of whatever this lovely lady is having right here!” he threw a pointed look in her direction, hoping she’d just look back.
