Riley wasn’t a big video game person, but the more they hung out with Cami the more they played. Usually only when they were with the girl, but still. The two were playing Mario Kart and Riley was so close to getting a better placement than she had been previously. Then, of course, they were hit with a red shell and went spinning and spiraled back into eight place. “Shit, no!” they yelled out but then laughed. “I was so close to getting better than like...fifth place. I know I wasn’t going to win but it’s an improvement.”
