It was cold on campus today and New England seemed to be a layer of hell, frozen over-- and he walked stiffly through the quad, looking for someone to antagonize. Ferris was nowhere to be found, he’d already ruined one of August’s jackets earlier in the week, but then; a grin touched at his features and he freed his hands from their place deep in his pockets. Viktor. If Viktor was a malignant presence on campus, Tommo liked to imagine himself as a roguish one. Falling in stride with the other, he reached down, sliding his fingers into Viktor’s open palm. “Where are we going?” He asked, swinging their hands, now clasped.
“I reserved the computer lab for the next few hours.” She doesn’t shift her attention from the glowing desktop screen to the person entering behind her. “And yes, I can hear you.” Which isn’t a feat considering the weighted door creaks when it swings back. She didn’t take any encryption courses this semester and hadn’t realized how much she’d miss it until it was too late. Sighing and spinning in her chair to see Viktor, her initial irritation softens just the slightest. She sort of feels like she owes him one. Hates that. “Hey.” She didn’t peg him as an encryption major, but the labs are open to regular students during certain hours. “Guess we’re both bad at being inconspicuous.” It’s a joke but she barely laughs, offering him a thin smile instead. This is her being friendly! @viktcr
Personally Rei thinks this is stupid. She’ll do it and she’ll do her damn best, but that’s just because it’s in her nature. She has no interest in field work, she’s a behind the scenes kind of person and if it were up to her she’d have hacked into the security cameras and gotten photographs that way. It’s the following Vik and his little friend around all day that feels like a waste of time and overall odd. So maybe her head isn’t in it. And maybe, when she’s trailing him in the International Spy Museum (seriously?) she doesn’t remember to turn the flash off of her camera. It’s a new model from R-Tech, straight out the box. She’s not sure if it’s the obnoxious click or bright flash that gives her away, or the security guard who calls her out, all she knows is that when she turns to look back at Viktor he’s looking right at her. She sucks her teeth, “You were blocking the...Insectothopter.” she lies. But she knows it’s obvious. “I can’t believe this.” Flash, Regine? Really? @viktcr

“Oof,” Tommo said as he walked away from where he’d just been with Mili, unable to let his stupid smile slip from his features, even as he passed by Viktor and his unusually stony expression. He’d halted in the sand, looking at him quizzically. “Turn that frown upside down, Samuels. It’s a good day to have a good day. Look at that sunset, it looks like it was just made for a postcard.” He held out his can of White Claw, offering it. “Still has a bit in it, if you want-- you can get a head start on that bonfire buzz. Looks like you need it.”
