Miriam enjoyed her time with Willow. They had roasted marshmallows at the bonfire and to Miriam that meant a lot. The friends she’d had since she was a kid all seemed busy with their own agendas lately so she was spending time with new friends. Nothing wrong with that! Upon spotting the blonde while Miriam was out running errands she ran up to her and wrapped her arms around the blonde from behind. “Willow!” she all but screeched in her ear. “I haven’t seen you since the bonfire. Did you get that meme I sent you about the rabbit and the duck? It was, like, so cute. Right?” She let out a laugh and let her friend go. “What are you doing out and about today? I just dropped groceries off at my apartment. I know it’s, like, so boring. Had to be done though. I was running low on snacks and my milk expired last week,” she explained. “Do you want to hang out if you’re not busy? I could use the company!”

It had been a bit since Rapunzel had seen the other blonde she’d met the day in the park when she’d had her photo printed for the first time. A lot had changed since then, too, though she could only hope that Willow had experienced less drama in the McDuck house than Rapunzel had in her own. This was the first time she’d been invited to the mansion that sat at the edge of town, the one she’d been eyeing on her walks ever since she could venture out this far. It was also the first time she’d gotten out of the house and further than the corner since she’d talked to Kit, but Rapunzel tried not to let that thought invade her mind. She was here to see her friend, not keep crying over something that was done now. So, when Willow opened the door, Rapunzel’s eyes lit up with as much excitement as she could muster, pulling her friend in for a quick hug in greeting. “I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve seen you, but I’m so glad I finally get to see your not-so-humble abode. Did you wind up going to the bonfire? I would’ve tried to find you, but ... well, I’ll tell you while we’re on the grand tour.”

It had been a while since she’d seen Willow since Wendy met the blonde in the park while she was writing one of her last articles for the newspaper. She liked the blonde a lot, enjoyed her company, and while she’d kept making mental notes to get to the library to see her, Wendy had been more focused on her classwork than chatting with one of her favorite librarians (besides Belle, of course).

Hearing that Willow knew Peter, too, was a bit of a shock, but Wendy couldn’t say that she was entirely surprised. Peter was the kind of person who knew everyone, and everyone knew them. It was Peter who the two were talking about when Willow had begun to stare into space, her iced coffee swirling gently in her cup. She was no stranger to the look of a daydreamer. “No, it’s okay, don’t apologize for dreaming,” she said with a grin, placing a hand over her friend’s in reassurance. Wendy knew exactly how she was feeling, how having too many emotions at once made them feel invalid, in a way. “I understand that, more than you think. That doesn’t mean that you are a kid, though. Sometimes it’s a lot to handle. If you need to talk about it, though, I’m here to listen. Maybe talking it out would help you process it?”

Luca had found a clean napkin to doodle on, because there was only so many times he could comment on the rebel attacks, or explain that he wouldn’t be agreeing to sponsor anybody until the tributes were actually reaped. He was looking for a bit of quiet, sketching out a drawing of one of Slate’s monsters when he felt another chair at the table move.
