Though she's been called a "grandma" by some of her friends for her old soul and love of tradition, Wendy thinks she more closely resembles a mother. She has been more of a mother figure to her brothers her whole life than Mrs. Darling ever was, and this role has followed her into her friendships, too. Wendy's often prepared with whatever anyone needs at a moment's notice: water, gum, and the usual essentials any one of her friends would need.
Wendy's interest in storytelling sparked when her parents decided to limit their children's television time. She, John, and Michael didn't have much to do before bedtime when they were bored, so she decided to tell her brothers stories. It wasn't until John suggested it that she thought to make a career out of it, but Wendy's father refuses to hear of his daughter's endeavors until after she's made a stable career of herself or married someone who has.
Most of the stories that Wendy told her bothers were fantasy ones, and those are the kind that have stuck with her. She can't believe that the fae and other creatures she read about as a child are real. Wendy knows that she can turn these fairytales into something that people her age would want to read about, if only she could decide what part of it to write about.
Perhaps the reason Wendy enjoys spending so much time with Peter is because he's the only person she feels most alive with. The sense of adventure she craved as a child is satisfied when she's around him, as though they could accomplish anything together.
- Wendy's tried to take care of Peter's friends like they're her own brothers now that she's in college in Amity Park. It makes her miss her family a little less to have one of her own that she's found. She feels so terrible about their pasts, and she only hopes to provide the sense of love and security that they never had from their own parents.
Though she doesn't quite like the music that the Lost Boys play, Wendy makes sure to show up to every performance that they play, anyway. She's their self-proclaimed biggest fan, and she loves nothing more than to stand in the front of the barricade and lose her voice cheering them on.
What she doesn't understand, though, is why Tiara seems to dislike her so much. Wendy has tried her best to be nice to her and the rest of her friends, but nothing she seems to do will resonate with her. Wendy's not quite sure what to do besides try and give her some space, but she doesn't want Tiara to think that she doesn't like her, either. Wendy hates the idea of anyone disliking her, especially one of Peter's closest friends.
While she's been in school, Wendy has taken to journalism to help her make some extra money while getting some writing experience. She doesn't love the way that some of her colleagues seek to exploit people for the best story; while Wendy's might not get the most buzz in town, she'd rather write honestly and fairly.
Along with fantasy, Wendy enjoys reading romance novels. She's quite convinced that she'll never find the perfect man to marry because her expectations have been spoiled by the unrealistic behavior of men in her books. These are her ultimate guilty pleasure; she finds a weekend with her book, some classical background music, and tea one well spent.
This doesn't mean that she doesn't have her eyes on a boy (or two) every now and then. Wendy has had a crush on Peter since the moment she laid eyes on him, and Tommy came a bit later. She likes how Tommy is well-read and likes the same things she does, but Peter's differences from herself are what keep Wendy coming back, even though she's convinced he likes Tiara. She definitely doesn't have time to date, though, and she doesn't want to ruin her friendship with either boy, hence why Wendy's decided to keep her feelings to herself.
