A Helping Hand / Gloria & Carson
If there’s anything I can do to help, don’t hesitate to ask. Those had been Carson’s exact words.  Gloria did hesitate, but not much.  Carson was polite and willing.  He was also attractive and could put up with her.  That was what she needed right now.  When she called, she had only mentioned needing help with moving the last of her things, but really she just needed the company of someone that she could be herself around and Marina deserved a break after the mess she had put up with at the casino. Â
So, they found themselves at Gloria’s extravagant new home, bringing in the very last of her belongings that weren’t in California.  Gloria stood in the large entrance way, shielding her eyes from the setting Miami sun with one hand as she watched Carson carry the final box.  “Careful.” she called out to him, holding the door open for him to pass through. Â
Once he had entered the home, she let out a relieved sigh and stepped in behind him so the door clicked shut.  “Perfect, you’re a Godsend.” Gloria gushed as he set the box down, safe and sound.  “And now that you’re here...  I’m going to need you to stay for dinner.  I’m not very handy in the kitchen and I may need some help... for safety.” Gloria told Carson with a wink.  Her kitchen was already mostly unpacked and she had went out and bought the supplies needed to make a nice spaghetti and meatball dish.  Gloria didn’t know much about cooking, but she had picked up a few things from Max. Â
“C’mon.  It’s going to start getting dark soon.  Wouldn’t want you to have to stay the night.” she teased, taking his arm in her hand and pulling him into the kitchen.
