If summer ever decides to arrive, I'll be in a pickle. Dressing formally in the winter is a doddle; in hot weather it's a pain. When I go shopping for summer work gear - not, I'll concede, a regular occurrence - I wind up with pastel-coloured winter clothes: smart-looking, for sure, but wooly and itchy and suffocating, far too warm for post-25°. Chattawak, however, has come to the rescue with a beautiful summer suit.
The cut is unfussy, the arms satisfyingly long, the material pliant. While white is dangerous to wear - especially if, like me, you sometimes miss your mouth when using a fork - it's also elegant and fresh. Sadly, all this comes at an eye-watering price - a total of 490 euros for the jacket, trousers and blouse. It's difficult to ignore the fact that Zara produces suits like this all the time at half the price. The quality may be less reliable, but then white clothes only stay white for so long, so there's not much point in over-investing.
