            a song of delighted giggles surrounded them as she was embraced and twirled. she feigned a sympathetic pout, pawing and petting at his cheeks with nimble fingers before landing her own kiss to his chin. her eyes shimmered with adoration as she gazed at her love. she had meant every word, of course, there wasn’t a single thing she didn’t love about adrien. she even loved his silly cat puns, and that was certainly saying something. oh, but she couldn’t help teasing him every once and a while. it was just too much fun. ❛ aw- désolé, mon coeur. you can dish it out, but you can’t take it? ❜

            instead of flinching at the high-pitched squeal the boy emits, she falls into a hushed giggle fit, raising a gloved hand to slap his shoulder, a little more harsh that intended. ❛ dio mio, gattino. if you’re that easily frightened, i don’t see how you can stand to do what you do. ❜

What if Pearl wasn't rejected because she was defective to start with - What if she was defective because she rebelled and went rouge with Rose Quartz?? Now since Peridot is a traitor to Homeworld, she'll be labeled as defective too? Maybe?

I’ve heard this theory a couple of times actually!

Either that Jasper when she called Pearl “defective” meant defective as in defecting from Homeworld, or that rebelling actually does actually mean a Gem is malfunctioning/defective.

One thing I would say about this theory is that if that were the case, I feel like Jasper would’ve called the Crystal Gems all defective. I also don’t think Amethyst would’ve been so surprised to hear Peridot call her defective. 

 (And also, that they put a lot of emphasis on the fact that Pearl’s gem is oblong, so that seems like a more likely source of “defectiveness”) 

But hey! It’s all possible.

            ❛ oh. chat, hmm? let’s see… he’s…a very good friend! albeit, he can be a bit of a huge DORK at times. well…all the time. but it can be endearing! er, sometimes. he certainly is confident. maybe a little too confident, in my opinion, but what’re you gonna do. his selflessness is either very brave of him or….extremely infuriating. actually, both. more infuriating, really. but….he’s more reliable than anyone i know. you'll never find anyone more loyal than chat noir. i’m very lucky to have him as my partner, that silly alley cat. there’s no one else i’d rather have by my side. –although, i DO think his puns are a bit in poor taste. just saying. ❜
