"Ayla, have you found it?" Ladybug asked. "I just need a few more- done!" Ayla said successfully as the coordinates popped up on the screen. "Ayla you're amazing! Thank you so much!" Ladybug said giving her a hug. Realization kicked in and Ladybug let go of Ayla. "Oops, sorry.... I didn't mean to..." Ladybug began but was cut off by Ayla. "Ladybug it's fine. I'm more than happy to help you with this Hawk Moth guy and for freeing me." Ayla said. Ladybug smiled. She knew that finding Alya was a great idea. After convincing Chat that Ayla could easily find Hawk Moths location they quickly rescued her and cured her. What they found out was that the akuma wasn't the normal akuma they fought. These ones where stronger and could attach themselves to anyone whether they felt happy or sad. "Where is Chat? He's been gone for over an hour." Ladybug mumbled. "Worried about me my Lady?" a voice from above asked. "Yes, because there is A LOT of akuma out there and only one of you. Did you get the food?" she asked irritabily. Chat grinned as he jumped off the ladder that lead into the the sewers. He landed silently and handed Ladybug the bag of food. "It's not much but it will keep us going until this is over." he said as he took some croissants out of the bag and handed one to Ayla and Ladybug. Ladybug quickly bit into the croissant, the flaky, buttery texture making her stomach growl. "Did you bring the chocolate chip cookies?" Ladybug asked. Chat grinned and threw her the bag of cookies while he took out a piece of cheese. They both nodded to each other and set off in different directions to feed their kwami's, leaving Ayla to blog about her experience with two of Paris's greatest superheros. "I can't keep living like this!" growled Plagg as he chewed his cheese. "It's been two days, Plagg." Adrien smiled as he leaned against the wall. "Two days! It feels like two years!" Plagg yelled as he finished the last of the cheese. Adrien sighed. "Hey, what's up Adrien?" Plagg asked his mouth full of cheese. "I really want to tell Ladybug how I feel...I know this isn't the right time...but what if we don't get another time?" Adrien said looking to the ceiling. Plagg raised his eyebrows. "I've been wanting to know Ladybug's identity since day one and I know our agreement not to reveal our identities....but-" Adrien was interrupted. "I get what you're saying Adrien. I do. It isn't the first time a Chat Noir wants to know a Ladybugs identity. But I have seen some messy ones. The one Chat Noir found out who his Ladybug was and hated her for the rest of his life. Turns out that she stole something very important from his family and he refused to work with her ever again. What made it worse was that they had fallen in love with each other...but all that came out of finding each others identity was heartbreak." Plagg said softly. "Did they ever get back together?" Adrien asked. "No, they moved on ,got married, had kids but I'll tell you one thing Adrien. The love that they had was never the same love that they had with their husband or wife." "Marinette? Are you okay?" Tikki asked as she nibbled on the edge of a chocolate chip cookie. "No, Tikki, I'm not okay." Marinette sighed. "Well, what's the matter?" Tikki asked. "Hawk Moth is so strong now Tikki. What.... what if we can't stop him?" she gulped. Marinette sat down on the floor and put her head in her hands. She didn't know she had started crying. " What if we loose. What if he gets you. What will he do to you?" the tears dripped to the floor. "I'll never be Ladybug again." Marinette cried. Tikki flew from her spot and lightly kissed Marinette on her forehead. "Marinette, we can beat Hawk Moth. You are so strong and confident." Tikki said. "No, Tikki, LADYBUG is strong and confident. Marinette is not. Marinette is this clumsy, forgetful girl, who can't even talk to her crush properly!" Marinette hiccupped. Tikki couldn't understand why Marinette put herself down so often. Yes, she was forgetful and clumsy and couldn't talk to Adrien properly without stuttering and going red, but she friendly, optimistic and talented person. "Okay, enough with the sad stuff! Marinette you are brilliant and sweet and thoughtful. You just don't see it." Tikki said comfortingly. Marinette looked up at the tiny kwami. She smiled and felt a lot better. "Thank you Tikki. Now lets go beat Hawk Moth and get Paris back!" * * * The wind whipped through Chat's hair. The sky was dark and cloudy. He crouched down on the roof of the building where Hawk Moth was based. He was waiting for Ladybug's signal. As soon as she had checked to see if the corridor was clear they would take the route Ayla had mapped for them leading them right to Hawk Moth. The streets were crawling with people under the influence of akumas and he had seen Nino, his best friend, looking like a zombie. A red and black spotted arm shot out of the open grate, waved then shot back down. The signal. Chat jumped into the grate and landed in a dimly lit storage closet. Ladybug stood next to him. "Ready to go My Lady?" he asked. "Let's go." she said as she grabbed the doorknob. She felt a hand grab her wrist. "Chat?" she whispered. She turned her head around and looked into his bright green eyes. "Please." he said softly. She let go of the doorknob and faced him. "I don't know what could happen today. I don't know if I'm ready for this. I don't know what I would do if something had to happen to you but...." He swallowed. "But what I do know is that you mean a lot to me. I've never felt this way about anyone before. I feel...lighter when I'm with you. Patrolling Paris with you, fighting by your side, just being with you make me the happiest person in the world." He didn't know how Ladybugs hands got into his hands. "All I know is that I want us to make it out of here alive so that I can feel lighter again." he said. He looked into the sky-blue eyes of his partner and he smiled. Suddenly she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. "We'll make it out. I promise." she whispered into his ear. He wrapped his arms around her tiny waist. He could hear her heartbeat. It was erratic. His was the same. Ladybug let go and so did he. You ready?" she asked him as she turned away from him to open the door. "Yes." he replied. She turned the doorknob and they ran. ******************************************** WOW!
