In the past, he had been a great Jedi-- he defended against the sacking of Coruscant, and was revered as a great leader. He was intelligent and calm, the epitome of a Jedi Master.
But as he aged, something changed. The Force was still with him, and he was just as powerful as before. However, something in his mind was just not the same. Rather than the heroic calls to fight the darkside, there was really only one thing he ever said anymore.
