Rechor's familiar given to him by a witch as a payment for a hitman job for her soon after leaving his home at 18. He was also given a pocket dimension in his wing armpit as a favour for giving her some of his potent venom so she could use it in potions. Chausette was a welcome companion to Rechor as he was now without family or his best friend. He named him chausette (aka sock in french) since he can also turn into a sock lizard plushie for easy transport. In his full form, Chausette is basically a wolf sized living lizard plush with sequins for scales and stuffing instead of organs or blood. The fabric that forms his skin is tough and durable but still soft to the touch. Despite his lack of bones, Chausette can move just like a normal giant lizard would and can also make himself firm to the touch rather than squishy so he can still pack a punch if needed. His jagged jaws and his claws can become especially sharp if provoked or if he senses Rechor is in danger. When Rechor was still moving from place to place back in france he would have chausette in sock plush form in one of his pockets. Then whenever Rechor was in danger or cornered (especially when he was just starting out on his own) chausette would sense this and come out and change into his full form and defend Rechor. Chausette has saved young Rechor's life quite a few times and Rechor is very grateful for this. So much so that now that he works at thorn's casino and is a highly experienced hitman, he leaves chaus in his room so he can laze about and eat all the garbage he wants and then gives him lots of pets and belly rubs and treats when he gets home. Chausette has gotten rather rotund and lazy because of this but he would still defend rechor in a heartbeat if necessary.

Fun facts: -Being a plushie, any injury chausette gains can easily be repaired with needle and thread. This leaves no scars and the fabric will quickly magically fix the tear and absorb the stitching. Also unless Chausette loses a lot of stuffing/has a lot of tears, he will not be hurt or weakened by injuries and barely need recovery time.

-Chausette can and will eat anything he can fit in his mouth. Be it food scraps, cigarettes, cans or any other kind of trash. Chausette's favorite activity is eating so when he is alone he likes to waddle around the casino to empty the trashbins into his belly. There is no waste or stench as Chausette will just magically digest it and turn it into stuffing and/or energy. Thorn is very grateful for this lil trash dispenser, saves him from having to find a way to dispose of hideout waste without raising suspicion.

-Grin does not like Chausette because he also likes to dig around in trash and eat food scraps but when he does it, its naughty and gets him a trip to the bath tub >:( It's not fair! Also chausette sometimes tries to eat grin's lil crafts he makes out of trash he found and he does not like this either. At least chausette leaves grin's drawings alone.

-Chausette can magically sense when Rechor is in danger, even if he isn't in near him. He will become restless and desperately try to find a way to get to Rechor.

-Chausette is fire proof and really there isn't a way to permanently kill him. The only way to kill him would be to kill Rechor as it's his connection to Rechor that gives him life. He is literally nothing without Rechor.

-If Rechor likes you or at least tolerates you/feels neutral towards you, Chausette will like you. If he hates you, Chausette will be hostile towards you. Hence Edward is unable to pet Chausette without risking a bite. Chausette can also sense it when people mean harm towards Rechor and become hostile towards them.
